Guest guest
Hi, Thanks to everyone for information I received about a month ago about my 23 yr old daughter's hyperthyroid. I've been reading all posts from various lists and done tons of research and will continue to to so over the next yr. We've had MANY endo & surgeon appt's. The only symptom my daughter was having was her TSH and a hot nodule causing her to test hyperthyroid. She was about to go to New Zealand for her teaching degree in Feb but had to cancel because of all this. Here is her update: We asked the endo & surgeon if it were their medical degrees they were going for in NZ, would they risk it and go. We didn't want to jeopardize her health of course. They both said they'd go.Said her TSH wasn't that high. She's to keep an eye on any new symptoms and if they happen, go to a hospital or see a family dr. They've told her to take calcium & Vitamin D supplements. We feel quite comfortable with this decision and will investigate surgery or RAI(probably not) when she comes back in Sept 07.She already has her appt booked with both endo & surgeon. They signed her student Visa papers and wished her good luck. She's leaving June 5th.
