> Sick School Syndrome

When a school is deemed sick, it means that the people inside

experience health problems that have no other obvious cause and that

these symptoms or problems disappear or improve when they leave the

building. ...

Sick teachers and students can't work and learn - in fact, they may

end up with permanent disabilities that prevent normal functioning. I

am a teacher who has been diagnosed with several serious disorders

due to exposure (at school) to molds and mycotoxins (emitted by

molds) in a dirty HVAC system that the school district had ignored

since the building was built over 25 years ago. It is infested with

rats, mice, cockroaches and even vast numbers of pigeons, that roost

on the roof, right by the HVAC equipment (air intake). Three years in

this school and I left in ill health that I will never get rid of.

Small airways obstruction and neurological deficits that I did not

have before - at all! A co-worker, from the same room, has tremors

and my symptoms, too. Nearly fifty workers were ill and countless

students were showing symptoms of asthma and ADHD - beyond what the

norm should be. The school district denies there is a problem. Why?

Money. It is too expensive to fix.
