Guest guest
You know, the media is controlled by "special interest" groups with a lot of money or a lot to lose by having certain facts get out. Like the insurance industries. Doctors can be swayed by them just as some are by the drug industries. Just because something is on TV doesn't mean that it is based on stone cold fact. I'm sure Barbara has all of our best interests in mind. I'm not sure why she is submitting this particular thing to the group, but for this particular article to say that "not enough research" has been done on the seriousness of claims that mold makes people sick or the couple in their living room saying that they have a mold - stachybotris - that they "don't like" is ridiculous. This mold releasing spores into the home environment is extremely dangerous and the seriousness should not be downplayed. You all know this! It just makes me nearly insane to read this! And the statements of the "pulmonologist" (what the heck is that? I thought it was a Pulmonary disease specialist) saying that he doesn't know why people make such health claims as mold is making them sick is absurd. This article is pseudoscience. If anyone does a bona fide search of the medical journal databases using a PubMed or Toxnet browser, they will see a LOT (hundreds? thousands?) of sound research findings on the toxicity of molds and their mycotoxins. How people are trying to convince people that they aren't sick when they really are is almost criminal and most certainly abusive. If they themselves, who can't believe mold makes people sick, were asked to spend a day in an air tight room filled with stachy they would run screaming after about a minute! What could they be thinking ???? I know $$$$$$$$ greed, selfishness, lack of empathy . . . . . ----- Original Message ----- From: Barbara Herskovitz Sick Buildings Information & Support Sent: Thursday, November 20, 2003 5:34 PM Subject: [] Austin's 6 part series on toxic mold http://www.news8austin.com/content/news%5F8%5Fexplores/mold/ 6 part series on toxic moldFAIR USE NOTICE:This site contains copyrighted material the use of which has not always been specifically authorized by the copyright owner. Guest guest
I have to second that one. I don't think anyone out there cares one bit about this except the sufferers unless they themselves are making money on it. This whole thing is based on MONEY and how much they can make at the expense of peoples health. These docs are supposed to have taken an hipochratic oath welll I think it now includes money as the biggest persuader. All the people that could be doing something about this should be ashamed of themselves because they are doing everything to cover it up rather than help. Maybe Jagger will shed some light on it since most of the time a wealthy person is the ONLY one who can get anyone to listen. If they have to start paying over this themselves it will change but until it cost more than they make I am affraid we will all suffer. ----- Original Message ----- From: Stensrud Sent: Thursday, November 20, 2003 10:24 PM Subject: Re: [] Austin's 6 part series on toxic mold You know, the media is controlled by "special interest" groups with a lot of money or a lot to lose by having certain facts get out.
