I know this is a touchy subject. But I thinke we all need to know what is

a coverable

happening and what is excluded!

a/ Fire is usually well covered.

b/ wind damage i/e tornado or shear winds...falling trees etc....is your

car covered

under household? Or do you need a rider on its policy?

c/ vandalisms....theft....arson....drive by shootings?

d/ the " fine print " in each policy seems to duck many issues.

e/ flood insurance is subject to location and past flood plane listings

for the area.

being on high ground is not always excluding you from a flood problem.

Run-off can find it way down from a higher place a quickly flood your

home as

it seeks a lower place.

Keeping the cost down may mean you are not covered by any serious

occurances.

We had some neighbors who had a truck go through a wall and into the

basement.

The truck was parked in a vacant lot accross the street at about 15'

above their site.

It had sat there for 6 months.....then one night it rolled down ....no

insurance on the truck.

The owners claimed vandals pulled off the brakes and set it in

motion...no proof!

Nothing in the insurance policy was covering such an incident....they

refused to pay!

So it went to court and the truck owner was liable but had no money or

assets.

We are all today buying insurance that excludes as much as it purports to

cover!!!

Mold is not a new issue...just avoided!!! Ask your insurance carrier

about adding coverage...

you will likely not get it with your present insurance company.

Insurance carriers are " risk " companies...when the risk is too

high...they decline coverage!!!

Those who will provide coverage will also demand inspections each year..

Has anyone had experience buying insurance coverage that provided

coverage????

..
