It's a Miracle - and then some!

Friends, yesterday was a miraculous day. About 4 p.m. our co-moderator "KC" was cutting firewood in the field down behind his house next to the old cemetery. Something went terribly wrong and the grappling hook he was using to keep the tree secured and falling in the right direction came flying loose, embedding in his neck and pinning him against the tree. I don't know if the rope snapped or what. By some stoke of divine intervention, his knife and cellphone were still on him when he finally landed. Since the rope was quickly choking him, he first cut the rope and fell to the ground with the hook embedded in his neck. From there, he called his wife for help. After calling for an ambulance, she ran down to the field and tried to comfort him until the ambulance driver arrived. From the local hospital, he was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center where he underwent surgery. They discovered that the hook just missed his artery by 2 precious millimeters. How is that for a miracle friends? Despite the wound being horrific and needing quite a lot of medical attention, somehow damage was minimal and he is expected to make a full recovery. Needless to say, KC is black and blue and will need a while to recover but I'm told he was already quizzing the doctors about mold in the hospital and asking for antifungals to go along with the antibiotics. He and his family have already been through so much and they could sure use our good thoughts and prayers right now.

Sincerely,

Barbara Herskovitz

co-moderator
