Hi Arnold,

We researched Down's after Nick was born. We got info from alot of

friends, including our nurse, and read up on the NutriVeneD and

started Nick on it when he was 4 weeks old. We started him on

piracetam at 2 months. We got it from Hazledrug in Pen. Our neuro

took us off piracetam, because of it being compounded, when we

started the epilepsy drugs. I order some piracetam pills to crush

from England that do not require a script. I haven't started him back

on it yet, because I want to make sure what was and wasn't a factor

in his seizures. Nick was breast fed, therefore he did not have

milk, but the real thing. I completely agree with nutrition being

important. We have made some changes in his diet. He now gets a

higher amount of protein then he did before and his sugars are only

natural ones from fruits etc. I add a tsp. of flax/pumpkin/olive oil

to his meals. He also gets DHA oil and efalex. Hopefully we can get

him healthy and strong again.

Thanks for the info.

Also arnold, glycoproteins, which help gene mediated diseases. Studies out of Mannatech glycoscience site (www.glycoscience.com ) have instances where children are losing their downs features on their faces becusae of supplementing 8 essential glycoproteins to the body, via monosaccharides. These are substrate nutrients for glutathione to work, as well as antioxidants and all vitamins.

Zoe,

Both of those ingredients are in the NuTriVene D daily supplement.

It is really a well researched product. They even do a blood drow to

check their utilization of the vitamins and will change it to his

specific needs.

Dianna,

Can you post more information about the product and who makes it?

I'm sure others will be interested in it also.

Zoe,

Here is a link on nutrivene D formula. You can get around on other

pages on the site for more info.

http://www.altonweb.com/cs/downsyndrome/index.htm

We went to the Children's developmental clinic on the 20th and talked

to the Neuro there. He said he thought it was the decadron but

didn't feel it had anything to do with the ears. I told him I wanted

someone a little closer to home to check in with if Nick's seizures

returned. He chuckled and said if they returned we'd definitely try

decadron again. My neuro I see now has to have double blind studies

before he tries anything. It may be a good change.
