Guest guest
Zoe, I must confess, I really do not think I understand the chart. It appears to me that only a few drugs are even listed. And, then one is them is not really a drug - it's a placebo with no feedback available. Why bother to list something when you don't have any stats? I am obviously confused. Please explain the chart to me. Lamar zoe88025 wrote: This is a short table from the World Health Organization on the effectiveness of anticonvulsants. Guest guest
-Zoe, I am new to this list and joined it to further my education on seizure meds and possible alternatives. It seems like the 50+ percent of the time these meds work would be worth it to the people who it works for. My daughter is on Tegretol, which works for her. I am sad she needs to take a toxic medication to control her seizures, but if she misses a day of meds she has seizures. I will accept her taking the toxic meds over her having the seizures any day. My hope is that some day there is a natural or less toxic cure. In the meantime, I will look for alternatives to lessen the effects of the meds and to lower the risks of seizures. Guest guest
Rossi, She has complex partial seizures. She is 8 years old and started having seizures at 1 1/2. The reason for the seizures are unknown. I apologize for the delay in responding to your posting, I haven't checked this site for several days. Guest guest
Lamar, Thank you for the kind welcome. I am eager to learn more. And I sincerely appreciate the reference to the bookmark section of this site. I look forward to reading the book you recommended. Once I educate myself more I will contact Dr. s. We live a days drive away from their clinic, it may be a possibility. I would love to wean my daughter from meds some day, but didn't know where to begin until your references. Congratulations on becoming med free and thanks again, Sandy > > > This is a short table from the World Health Organization on the > > > effectiveness of anticonvulsants.
