Well, this IS getting interesting!

Four years ago I just called a dozen doctors at random in Reno to

describe my mold experience and see if they wanted to learn about mold

illness. None of them knew anything about mold and did not care to

talk to me.

I told them they were going to see an epidemic of mold complaints and

left my number but only one called back. It was a CFS specialist who

was sick himself from mold. He's getting ready to bail out of his

house. I've even fought with some of the professors up at UNR and

they don't care to look into this either.

Years ago when I was horribly sick with mold I called most of the

allergists in Reno and St s and Washoe Med and they flat out told

me that mold reactivity was " impossible " .

One of the leading allergists told me that my illness was due to a bad

back and wanted me to get a spinal X ray. I asked " Why does my back

only cause this illness in a moldy building? " but was assured that

mold illness was impossible and to get the Xray. (I didn't)

I did call the allergist back and asked " If a person located something

they were reactive to in in their house and wanted help in removing

it, do you know of any contractors who specialize in removing allergens? "

And the allergists office told me " You are the first person to ever

ask us that " . Then after some thought they said " No, we don't know of

anybody who does such work " . I was surprised at this and asked " If

people know they are allergic to something, don't you counsel them on

removal and avoidance of offending allergens? " and the response was,

" No. That's your problem. We just give shots " .

How quickly we have gone from being told that this is impossible by

all the doctors, allergists, immunologists, and having no professional

options for remediation to having five mold remediation specialists in

Reno. Of course they don't know what they're doing. One specialist is

sick himself and his wife has been diagnosed with CFS.
