Guest guest
I have a rash that looks like a bunch of blood spots. Like if someone poked me with a needle again and again. Can mold cause a reaction like this? Because I've been poisoned by toxic mold I'm wondering if this doesn't have something to do with it. Although I've been free from the moldy place I'm wondering if it's the cause of my rash. After all those toxins my system is off and cetain foods and chemicals bother me. So, I've been useing safe things only. Jen
Guest guest
Thanks KC. I hope your wife feels better soon. The detoxing programs have helped me some. But right now I am battling my regular allergies, pollen, all the lovely trees and flowers of Spring. Ren > > > I have a rash that looks like a bunch of blood spots. Guest guest
Hi All, I have meant to ask your advice for a while, but kept forgetting. When Mark gets up in the morning he has a rash on his arms and sometimes his legs. This is well prior to LDN, which is 7 months. It fades after a couple of hours, so it's not that he is warm when he gets up. I have felt all along that there was something else going on, as NOTHING seems to work for him, and in fact most treatments have made him worse. Mark has been tested for Syndrome and is,apparently, negative. The reason I say apparently is that the test results were lost then found then the consultant told us it was negative, but did not discuss it in any way. My thoughts are that he didn't know what he was looking for!!!! I think I also mentioned at some time that 6 months prior to dx Mark had been in Kenya. Again, don't know if this relevant. I know that this might not be relevant to anything but it comes to my mind every so often. If anyone wants to contact me off line that's not a problem. Thanks in advance of any replies. Guest guest
When I was a teenager, long ago it seems, my sister and I had a mycoplasma infection that presented itself, in part, as a rash. Mostly on our arms, the rash was not constant, but I don't remember whether it was only in the morning. I know that a high number of the first Gulf War vets have been diagnosed with mycoplasma. Do you suppose this is a possibility? If so, there are a couple of antibiotics that are supposedly effective. I think Minocycline is one of them. Hi Esther, Sounds like an allergy rash.....and they can pop up after being on Gleevec for a while. Benedryl will help with the itch.......also oatmeal bath product, like Aveno. The doc might give you some cortisone to help get rid of the rash. Some people can then go back on the drug after a break without a problem, some stay on prednisone for awhile. Many people have take breaks from Gleevec for different medical reasons, and it is OK. C.
Guest guest
Hi Esther, Try not to worry about the rash. Many people have had a rash from Gleevec and they were able to continue to take it anyway. There are a variety of ways to deal with a rash, depending on its severity but I just wanted to reassure you that the vast majority of the time, a rash can be managed and Gleevec can be continued. I'm not sure you'll see any improvement after missing just a day of Gleevec, as the drug will still be in your system but I also don't see how missing a day will hurt you either. I hope the Benadryl helps. Let us know how you are.
