Guest guest
It seemed okay at first. After my friend did a good cleaning he found dry rot in the kitchen, serious mold in the bathroom and mold in the bedroom. I freaked. The apartment has all hardwood floors and tile. The landlord has agreed to remove all the dry rot and mold and repaint with a mold retardant paint. The problem was mostly caused by the previous tentants who never opened the bathroom window to let the steam out and not reporting any of these problems to the landlord. The landlord as usual wanted to cut corners about the repairs. I found out about our health and building codes and gently demanded that all mold and dry rot be removed. I am hoping this will be enough. I have not moved any of my belongings in yet and while I am paying rent this month I am still at the hotel--paid for by my previous scumlord. When I sneeze mold appears-- HA! My question: am I doing the right things-- should I then get a good inspector to take a final walkthru with me?? If I sound Stachysterical it is because I am. I can't go thru this again. Thanks. Lori K.
