Let's help through this nightmare--sounds like she is definitely reacting to her implants like we did.

Her address is listed below in the "to" line. Please write her and invite her to join our group.

Subject: Breast implant problem? Date: Sun, 5 Jan 2003 09:59:33 -0800

Hello Ilena,

I live in Santee, Ca. I had breast implants put in July of 2000. I am 35 years old. Ever since the implants, I have had breathing problems, muscular aches-while trying to exercise and go up stairs, one flight at work. I used to jog, but now for the past 2 years I tend to black out, and now have black out spells in the evening( 5 times this last year). I would like to reiterate, this never happened before breast implants. Also went on vacation this past summer and could not hike with my family, with the breathing and aches, they all had to wait for me. Now since the implants I have gained 12 pounds, but I frequent the gym and workout 3/4 times a week for an hour at a time, walking now on the treadmill since running causes so much pain in my chest and breathing.

I have been to my HMO doctor, who has referred me to heart doc, asthma doc, neurologist. Seems as though the blackouts are occurring more frequently. No one can find anything, my blood pressure has start to rise and the pressure in my chest was quite great so they prescribed a beta-blocker, took it last night first time and was throwing up all night, blacking out everytime I stood up. My doctor (hmo) said he did not know what to do with me last time I saw him, except put me on the prescription for the beta blocker and quit drinking any alcohol, which I have been drinking occasionally, but had no problem before the breast implants. I really just want to run and be able to hike with my family again, which I can no longer do. Can the symptoms be an adverse reaction to the breast implants? My plastic surgeon just told me they look great and really did not listen to what I had to say at my 3rd follow up in December, they are soft and did not harden up. I am thinking of asking m y doctor to let me see a allergy doc and test for allergies, ..thanks for any advice...

I'm copying Patty and who have a saline support group ... I know Lori ... in fact, see this article at the bottom ... it's her opinion against mine in Glamour ... http://www.humanticsfoundation.com/glamour-saline.html You know she has implants don't you? She knows how dangerous they can be ... she is a good surgeon ... just loves silicone gold too much to be honest ... I don't know whether or not an MRI is necessary ... I would call Dr. Middleton at UCSD MRI department ... he knows more than anyone in the world, I think ... Dr. Middleton 410 Dickinson St. 8749 San Diego CA 92103 619) 543-6414 Hel'l tell you the truth ... he's one of the best friends of the implanted community ... a dedicated scientist ... give him my love ... i am in costa rica at the moment but lived 14 years in pacific beach

PS?, Oh Plastic Surgeon, it was done at the La Jolla Surgery Center by Dr. Lori Saltz. I am going to ask my primary for more advice, his name is Hart, at Grossmont Family Medical Center. I think I am at the point that I need to have them removed to see if this solves the pain that I am encountering. Should I ask for a MRI or just as Dr. Hart for a referral, if he knows anyone to remove. Any suggestions I would appreciate. There is alot more to the story and pain, thanks for listening and forwarding my information... ----- Original Message ----- From: ilena rose yourrealtor@...
