Debbie,If I had a friend that was as lovely and as wonderful as you are--Well

let me say-- You're a Godsend!Wow, she is so blessed to have found you!Remember

to always take CARE of you too.Love Annie & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; would be as if I

wsMy friend is going to have an anterior cervical fusion, C5/6 & amp; 6/7,

done tomorrow morning. She's been fitted for a halo although the

doctor didn't say 100% that she'd be in it after surgery, he said

maybe she'd be in a brace. My gut tells me she'll be in that halo or

they wouldn't have gone through all the trouble of fitting her with

the molded body part of it. She has had a very difficult time with

wearing her miami j collar with the body extention part on it, she has

claustrophobia in it and becomes very anxious.

I've been working on a check list for her of things to do today,

things to buy to have at the hospital with her and what she'll need

once she gets home. She's such a sweet girl, I hate to see her go

through this and she's young too, too young to have so many troubles!

I didn't have a halo after my sugery. Is there any special care that is

needed for the halo? Anything that she'll be needing to have on hand

for this for cleaning the spots where it connects to the head?

One thing that hadn't occured to me....how do you wash your hair like

this? And shower? If hair is long, how do you brush it even?

If anybody has any info for me that can help me help her it would be

greatly apprecitated! Please let me know, I'm working on her list now.

Thanks a Bunch!!

Debbie

Hairstyles: For my first implant, HALF my head was shaved, and I was

not a happy camper about that, having hair almost to my waist. Brought a

miniature lawn mower to shave the surgeon's beard. He laughed. Did the

old bald headed man combover for several months until the hair grew back,

and I really AM a natural blonde!!

For my second implant, 2 months ago, NO hair shaved. And yet the surgeon

got the implant up as high as the first one, so they are even with each

other in the back.

As a lady, I would often wear barettes in my long hair, and they always

migrated toward the magnet in the implant. NOW I'm waiting to see if I

put one in the middle if they will bounce back and forth between the 2

magnets. Mentioned it to the Dr. who just rolled his eyes.

Thanks robert

I do not want to ask or bed Dr. to shave my head. I am female. a

lady... I love my red hair. but I wouldn't mind if jsut a little

patch was shaven. there should be no hassle with my insurance either.

they said that willb e taken care of for me not to worry.

Have a great day!

Debbie Cole

Deb - The Lee from Seattle that mentioned was going to school to

become a paralegal, I believe. If it's the same one I am thinking of, I

can't imagine she would be too busy to answer some questions. She was a great

advocate of rights for hard of hearing/deaf and the CI. At any rate - keep

asking questions here, we're happy to help. Jackie :o)
