Let's help Laurie, who is sick from silicone gel implants. Remember how lost and alone we all felt, and how wonderful it was to connect with other women...write her with some encouragement if you can. Her address is listed below.

Laurie ... so glad you wrote.

What you are experiencing is mirrored by women all over the world ...

I am forwarding your message to some trusted support leaders who have lists and groups that can help you find a good rheumy, hopefully.

Please stay in touch.

You are not alone.

My name is Laurie Prichard. I have been sick for over a year going to the Dr every couple of months with the same complaint. My joints hurt, headache, tired and slight temp. I finally went to a new Dr. and she ran tests and checked my old records, all tests keep coming back normal except for my white count which is 15000. She asked me about my breast implants and ordered an MRI. The MRI shows that I have bilateral ruptures and that about 3/4 of the silicone is in the breast cavity she said that she believes the rest have been absorbed by the capillaries in the chest cavity. She has now diagnosed me with Auto Immune disease. She has set up two appointments with Rhuemetoligists and both have called and cancelled the appointment saying that they know nothing about this problem and could not refer me. I am in a small town in IA. I have had my implants for 18 years last month. Do you have suggestions for me

Thank you

Laurie Prichard
