Guest guest
Hi Rogene, I've been getting my coconut oil here for the past year or so: http://www.wildernessfamilynaturals.com/mall/virgin_coconut_oil.asp Actually, it is expensive stuff! I just paid $36 for a half gallon of it, previously I think I paid $17 for 2 quarts, so it has gone up. It is a solid most of the year, so the problem in taking it straight is the texture. In the summertime, when I keep my house at 80 degrees inside, it becomes a liquid and much easier to work with. But still, I have just used it for baking. I haven't used it in smoothies because it tends to set up when mixed with colder stuff. I have used coconut milk in smoothies though! YUM! I love coconut! I haven't tried it yet, but I can't imagine it tasting bad. . . I love the smell of coconut oil. An article I read about it today is strongly touting it's properties. . . helps balance the good/bad cholestoral, blood sugar, etc. I don't know if this is another craze type of product, or if it's for real. If the cost isn't outrageous, it shouldn't hurt a try. Rogene
Guest guest
I got some in the health food store and it was a reasonable price but I still have not used it. I am back on all my supplements though, so far they seem to be ok, as long as I take them with food. hugs In , " ~*Patty*~ " <fdp@l...> wrote: > Hi Rogene, > I've been getting my coconut oil here for the past year or so: http://www.wildernessfamilynaturals.com/mall/virgin_coconut_oil.asp > > Actually, it is expensive stuff!
