Guest guest
Can anyone tell me how on earth they can be using these things on women who have never been implanted before? I would really like to know how the hell my sister got these things. Aren't they dangerous. She thinks since her friend has them and has for 13 years that they have to be safe. Even though her friend has arthritis very bad, they say it is nothing to do with the implants. I think they are crazy.
Guest guest
Dr Kolb will know the answer to this one, but I think they can still get them if the doctor wiggles his way into it. I have heard that they can get silicone gel if they had saline and didn't like them. (the doc just says the saline didn't work well.) I have heard that docs can pretend to be putting them into a "study" for the gels, but then just forget about follow up. I have heard that they can get gel if they are determined to not be a good candidate for saline because of thin skin or something like that. These are just a few of the reasons. We all know that there is no FDA oversight worth much when it comes to breast implants. I think just about any woman who wants silicone gel can get them if they go to the right doctor. It's a joke. Guest guest
Gretchy, Definitely others have had reactions without rupture from silicone. I had reactions from saline after a few weeks, and it had to be because of the silicone shell or from the chemicals used to manufacture the implants. Plus there is something called " gel bleed " from the implants, which isn't because of a rupture.
