I have spent the last 24hrs researching the web for help. I found you and hope you can help me. My name is Holly. My saline breast implant has ruptured. I have decided to have them removed but don't know where to turn. Here's what happened. About 1 week ago, I noticed a really awful smell coming from my body. It was really discusting and somewhat metallic smelling. My urine smelled as well. In the meantime, I had been having sudden neck pain that was especially painful when standing. I went to the doctor and had an x ray done. He was concerned and wanted to have an MRI and Cat scan done. I was given pain medication for the pain. I do everything holistically so was not used to the pain meds. I did take 1/2 dose and then 5 hrs later another 1/2 dose. I was very drugged. The next day, I had a HUGE seizure lasting over an hour!. I was in the ER and stayed in the hospital for 2 days. I had a catscan and was found to have"Facet Artrhitis with intractable pain" When I got home, I noticed my breast had ruptured and now I was nauseous, dizzy, fever (100') very weak and in pain. Now I am wondering if that is why I had the seizure and perhaps that was what the smell was all about. I called the surgeon last night and he said, "well this isn't an emergency, I'm coming to your island on Wedesday, I'll see you then." MY question to you is: Should I wait that long? If I have mold or bacteria on the ruptured breast, is there a certain protocol to remove it so it doesn't further hurt me? Can it be done by any surgeon or only a plastic surgeon?
