Guest guest
, Yes, that's messy, no doubt about it. I'm so sorry about talk of yet another procedure coming up. What about Dr. Briggs? What did he say about your pain and fever? What I'm having a hard time understanding is how all of your doctors think you can just grin and bear it day after day. I'm glad to hear that you have an appointment with someone else. Are you on the cancellation list, too? I'm feeling frustrated along with you. It's hard for me to know what else to say, but that I'm very sorry that you are going through all of this. ----- Original Message ----- From: " " <dat2352@...> <LDSSAHM >; <MiniSchnauzer >; < > Sent: Wednesday, March 21, 2001 8:33 AM Subject: [ ] my life > Here is my messy story. > You all know that I had major hernia surgery in January. Well I have an area that has not healed and is still draining. Went to the surgeon yesterday and it's not good. I have very little muscle across my abdomen and this gortex graft was sutured way out over my hips- different procedure than before. Well after about a week in the hospital I had a bleeding hematoma and needed 6 units of blood transfused. What the surgeon figures happened is that the pressure from the bleed pulled apart what little muscle was over the gortex graft. So now I have the graft, a layer of fat and the hole in the skin. Next is remove the graft, replace it and have a plastic surgeon do an abdominal muscle flap. Don't know when but within a few months. > I also have severe rheumatoid arthritis which has me giving up all outside activities and also losing weight which is not a bad thing but not the right way. It hurts to much to bother to fix food. I have been seeing a rheumetologist who does not believe in pain management as a separate entity so just grin and bear it! I have now made an appointment with someone else at Mass General but they can't see me for a month or more. > Also have been running a low grade fever for about a week which is causing me to sleep and have no energy. > Yesterday at Dr. Briggs' I was rather flustered but now I am calling with questions that need answers-one of which is even if it's just symptomatically, we need to control the temp. > That's my disaster in a nutshell. I am getting rather depressed. > Why can't I just have one thing wrong? > > Temple
Guest guest
, I have an appointment with a different rheumetologist but not until the end of April. Am on cancellation list too. Boo hoo for pain management. As far as Dr. Briggs, she says that the temp is probably related to my contaminated abdomen but she doesn't want to mask it with antibiotics because they won't cure it and it is important to know if it spikes so just OTC analgesics. It could be the RA too, right. I guess I have been in quite a flare for awhile. As far as pain, she hopes the new rheumetologist helps but realizes my frustration but not her field... She also does not have a high regard for the MGH outpatient Pain Center. Hey I am an overweight woman and the good thing from all this is that I'm losing weight-not worth the pain to go fix food but everyone else is starving along with me. This is 2 separate surgeries because the base line is to remove foreign material and allow some healing before putting it back in and since I have an open hole in my belly, it is already considered contaminated. I just talked with her because yesterday, I was so upset, I didn't ask all the right questions. The last surgery was 8 hours and she says this double one will be double the time. Guest guest
Hi , My heart goes out to you. It doesn't seem fair to have so much going on at the same time. Just remember we are here for you. Hopefully you can get pain relief soon. Did you ask if you could be called if there are cancellations? A month seems like a long time to wait for relief. Take care. I will keep you in my prayers. Guest guest
I know it has been quite awhile since I've written but I am keeping up with reading emails. Had my hip replacement on April 10 and I love it but I keep wanting to bend the wrong way. But I have great hopes for the future! My knee replacement always hurt but after the hip it stopped. Still having PT 3x per week-very nice lady. Our hot tub is in and it feels great on the joints. With the enbrel and lodine hope to keep other joints in control. We went to the movies on Saturday and even though I used crutches to walk it was the 1st time in at least 2 years that my husband didn't have to help me stand up. Guest guest
Patty, very inspirational! I cant wait for part two. I must confess, I sound a little like you! Since a year ago, I have read over 22 books, and cant stop. I have read on numerous topics, detoxing, emotional, thyroid (big) metabolic health, health, holisitc, name the topic, and I' m there, or will be! I am curently reading Dr Lowes " your Guide to Metabolic Health" and just finished Dr Mercola's 1st book that just came out. I cant get enough. I swear by my "Fatigued to Fantastic: energy enfusion Shake, as I feel so awesome the days I take it, (which I do everyday now) and also can cut out so many supplements(hallelujah!) as it is loaded with them, amino acids, minerals & vitamins! I work out every day, take hot baths in ebson salts in my jacuzzi once a week, fast 4 days a month , and also do lemon, and coffee enema's once a month. I can't believe the difference since 6 months ago. I am still experiecing stiffness in my hands, not as bad, and some brain fog, but feel better overall. I do have mycoplasmal infection, and know that will take some time on the antibiotic treatment, as well as my metabolism is still a little under the weather, and needs to be fine tuned. But with prayer, knowledge, and hope, I will get better each day. I just know it! Thanks Patty, cant wait to read part 2~! >From: "~*Patty*~" >Reply- > >Subject: My life >Date: Tue, 13 May 2003 07:41:22 -0700 > >Hi everyone, >I just wanted to give you all an update on my life now, over 5 years after explant. I know some of you are recently explanted and some waiting to get explanted, and others who have been working to get better for what seems like eternity. In just taking stock of how my life has changed, I can honestly say my body is doing well now, with the only real residual problems I have from implants being the Hashimotos. Today I feel great, and have been feeling great for awhile now! It is like a bad dream to me when I think about my post explant days, and how I so desperately wanted to get better. I remember those awful feelings of wanting to just never wake up again to another day because it was sure to be like the last one, just feeling poisoned, brain fogged, tired all the time, weak and worthless. But my life is so full these days that I NEVER have enough hours in the day to do all I want to do, and I sometimes feel like I am running 100 miles an hour all day long. I have 3 kids here at home, (I home school my teenager, and my other two are still in elementary school) so that is a large part of why my life is crazy, as well as the fact that we own 2 businesses, and soon a third one, and it is my responsibility to do all of the bookkeeping and keep things running smoothly in "the office" (which is in my home.) I feel so blessed by God to be able to work in an office from my home. He really knew what I needed to keep my life in balance financially and mentally, and provided that for me. Jehovah Jireh, my provider. I am so thankful to Him. > >As far as my life goes with therapies, when I was still healing from my implants, I was dedicated to doing everything possible that I could do to get better that was within the realm of possibility, using a natural medicine philosophy. I figured if doctors were so ignorant of why I got sick in the first place, they were going to be too ignorant of how to fix the mess they made of my life. The only doctors I found to be compassionate regarding the implant situation were the naturopathic ones, alternative minded ones, and holistic ones. The wonderful thing about alternative medicine is that you can find all the information you want in books, on the net, and in magazines, and many of the products are available over the counter at health food stores, on the net, or even in grocery stores. The plus to that was that I didn't have to deal with doctors, insurance companies, co-pays, and mess up my health record (when you own your own business, you also have to buy your own insurance, and that could have been a disaster if my records were full of problems). I did buy some very expensive equipment, like a cold plasma ozone generator and an infrared sauna, but for the most part I think we saved ourselves alot of grief and money by going the alternative medicine route. > >Here is basically what I did during my 5 year journey after explant: > >I got tested and found out I had an elevated rheumatoid factor, macrocytosis, lowered C3 complement, had a brain MRI and found out that there was some atrophy, but after the rheumy said I didn't need to see him any more because I was "all better", I took stock of the situation, prayed, and then headed to the internet and started my search for detoxing therapies on my own. I felt God was telling me that He would heal me. In my Bible study this week, I came across a very interesting sentence, in 2 Chronicles 16: 12-13. It says, "And in the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa became diseased in his feet, and his malady was very severe; yet in his disease he did not seek the Lord, but the physicians. So Asa rested with his fathers; he died in the forty-first year of his reign." What is interesting is that King Asa was a very godly man, in fact, it says in my Bible dictionary that Asa was named among the kings of Judah who were outstanding for their godliness. And yet, the dictionary states that by the 39th year of his reign, King Asa's faith had deteriorated, and because he trusted his physicians rather than the Lord, he died. I find that very sad, but also very instructive. It confirmed for me that my faith in God is my healer, and that I was right to question the physicians who were not telling me the truth. I never put my trust and faith in man, but my God alone. I believe God wants us to be wise and realize that men don't heal. He does. Be wise as you seek advice from your doctors. > >I did my first fast (5 days, no food) 7 months after explant, supervised by a very compassionate and knowledgeable naturopathic physician. I went on to do many more fasts after getting a productive rash on my breasts and scalp, evidence he said, that toxins were coming out through the skin on my breasts and head, (exactly the place where I would expect to find a rash, based on my symptoms. I had horrible, horrible brain fog for months and months--probably 4 years of fog total). Today my fog is totally gone for the most part, only appearing right before my period for a day or so. I have never figured out what makes it come, what makes it go, or why it is there, but the best I can come up with so far is that it is hormonally related. I realized this when I heard that some of the women doing natural breast enlargement with fenugreek had what they called "brain fuzz". Sounds like a very good description, just like mine! > >During the fasts, I tried colonics, and that continues to be one of the therapies that I do at home. Dr. was also the first one to tell me to do coffee enemas during my fasts, and at first I totally thought this man was off his rocker. There was no way. I didn't do them. But I did do a colonic, and it was quite an interesting experience. But the more I read, the more I realized how important a healthy colon is, and I got into books by Dr. Norman , Dr. Max Gerson, Hulda , Dr. Bernard Jensen, Dr. Weil, Ann Wigmore, Dr. Weston Price, Dr. Neal Barnard, Dr. Fuhrman, and more. I read and studied, and read and studied more. Today I have a huge library of health books, all read and absorbed and utilized. My husband calls me his doctor, but I know it is only by the grace of God that we are where we are today. Our lives have improved tremendously in our search for natural health. > >I made sure I was taking all the recommended supplements, buying hundreds of dollars worth of vitamins, minerals, herbs, and detoxing agents. I took so many pills that I think I was overdoing it. I actually felt worse on some than others, like calcium liquid. I got to the point with calcium that when I looked at it, I wanted to barf. So, I just decided it was better to stop some of the supplements. > >After fasting, the naturopath did a metals test on me to see what we were dealing with, although he didn't specifically test for platinum, which is what I was concerned about. I guess he didn't have a source for platinum testing. Anyway, I removed the amalgam filllings from my mouth, as I showed higher than desired mercury, as well as arsenic, and did a course of chelation therapy using DMSA. I also found out how to buy DMSA on the net, (usually prescription only) and also through a local chiropractor, so I continued to do chelation therapy on my own for several months afterwards. My tests showed a definite lowered level of mercury and arsenic. > >However, after the chelation therapy, I felt like I had a huge relapse, which was in the spring of the year, one year after explant. I was scared that my brain would never be the same! I sought out oxygen therapies, and found , who was also an implant victim, and she invited me out to San Bernardino to do some HBOT treatments at her clinic. http://www.hbot4u.com I did 22 of them, but unfortunately, I did not get the relief from the brain fog that I sought. is a great lady. She is a wonderful testimony of the healing powers of HBOT, with her and her 3 girls, who also suffered from exposure to her implants through the womb. > >Continuing with the oxygen therapies, I saw a gentleman at Angel Healing Center here in Vegas, http://www.angelhealingcenter.com/ and got introduced to ozone therapy. I later bought a cold plasma ozone generator, and used that for ozonated drinking water, as well as other methods of insufflation. I also bought an infrared sauna, to help in the elimination of toxins through sweating. I found out, however, that heat therapy brings back my brain fog if I stay too long, or with the heat too high. So, my sauna is used sparingly, but boy, does it feel good! I love that refreshed feeling right after a sauna bath. I wish I could use it more often, but for now, I have to be careful. > >Okay, well, I have to stop here because I need to take care of my kids and get them ready for school, but I thought I would try to give an update. It is turning out the be longer than I thought. so, stay tuned for part 2! >Patty > > > Protect your PC - Click here for McAfee.com VirusScan Online
Guest guest
, Can you share a little more with us about your long term low dose antibiotic treatment? I know Daryl is in need of some help with this subject matter. She tested positive for mycoplasma, but the doctors here don't seem to understand the long term treatment protocol. The last doctor she saw wanted to treat aggressively and put her on a short dose, hard hitting antibiotic. That was without knowing what he was treating for, which I thought was a little careless, and not the correct way to go about treating it. Are you taking monocycline, or doxycycline, or what? What dosage, and how often? Thanks ! I am so glad to hear you are doing much, much better! Guest guest
I am on Minocin 100mg pel'tized capsules (NO GENERIC EVER ON THIS! ), 3 times per week, Mon Wed, & Fri night I will send over Dr Mercola page on Rhuematoid Arthritis, as it has the whole "DR Brown Protocol" dosage, info , and diet based for the removal of mycoplasma. AS you have stated garlic is essential for the assistance, as well as Olive Leaf oil, or Oil of oregeno, cut back on sweets and refined cartbs (as they feed off these foods, it is useless to take the minocin, if diet is not addressed. Whats the use in taking the medication to slowly kill off the mycoplasa, if the next day you send in a wave of sugars to multiply them?) And keep away from coffee, chocolate, anything that contains the amino acid- I think Lcartinine or Argitine, whatever, I thikn Dr Mercola article goes into this- they realy feed of these foods. Also the book "The infection Connection" Is awesome. . Also, what area is Daryl in? City and State? I will check a search for a doc that goes by the "Dr Browns Protocol" with low dosage treatment. I feel better, and have had no yeast problems whatsover. HAve been on it, 6 months.Good luck Daryl, you are in my prayers. Just remember, that even though we had them for long time, we are still young, have good support, and are heading in the right direction.Love you! >From: "~*Patty*~" >Reply- > >Subject: Re: My life >Date: Wed, 14 May 2003 15:02:46 -0700 > >, >Can you share a little more with us about your long term low dose antibiotic treatment? Guest guest
Holly, I use my blender, and put the scoop of the mix, with blueberries or strawberries, half a banana, non flavored yogurt, ice, and water. It makes a creamy morning shake! I love it! You can drink it plain, but it has a little aftertaste, so adding a little (little) juice, or fruit helps get that taste out! I love it!
