Guest guest
Kim, I understand completely your fear. There is nothing to fear if you become informed, and you are taking the right steps! You can get better and get rid of all your problems by getting back to your old self completely. You are young enough that I think you have a great chance. My mother in law has the silicone tubes in her tear ducts that you are talking about and her eyes are always red and inflammed. She looks awful most of the time that I see her. I wish she would get them out, and apparently they have to be replaced or cleaned out every so often, is that right? Were you told that you will have to have them cleaned out periodically? Find out if that is true, and then discuss just leaving them out completely. If you get your implants out, you will give yourself the best chance to recover. Let you body get back to its old self, which was healthy and strong. Implants aren't worth it, and I know there are alot of emotional issues associated with going back to your old figure, but we can work through those. For now, your first concern is your health, and while the doctors are not pointing fingers at the implants, that is where I point first, because of the fact that those of us who got them out have gotten better. Im in so much pain ans so scared.
Guest guest
Kim, the answer to your first question is hard to say. I would think taking out the silicone tubes in your tear ducts along with taking out the implants would be your best course of action. If you took the implants out and left the tear ducts tubes with their silicone in, you might still have a reaction to the tubes in your eyes. I think I would take out the tubes first to see if that helps, but of course, if there is an autoimmune disease process starting, and you still have the implants, you probably won't see much relief right away, if at all. There are just too many variables when it comes to the specific reactions from silicone and implants, even though we generally see alot of common ones, like fatigue, joint and muscle pain, hair loss, frequent infections. The problems with eyes are not quite as common, but definitely a sign with Sjogrens syndrome, an autoimmune disease, and quite a few women had that. http://womnhlth.home.mindspring.com/studies/a_profile_of_symptomatic_patient.html You can see more about it: http://www.sjogrens.com/ For your second question, about the lift, it is hard to say, but generally, if you were not saggy when you got implants, you probably won't need one when they are taken out. I know a group member in Connecticut who is a club dancer, and she still dances even after her implants were taken out. She looks just like she did before implants now. So, chances are good that you won't need a lift especially at your age. For your last question, that is definitely hard to answer. If you are reacting to the implants, most likely there is some kind of disease process going on after 3 years. If it were only a reaction to the implants, kind of like an allergy, it would most likely have shown up before now. So, knowing your chances of getting better are hard to say, but if it is a disease process that is autoimmune in nature, it will take some time for the immune system to settle down. You can really only just give it the best chance you can by taking them out and watching to see what happens. I wish I had better answers to give you. I know I wanted to hear things other than what I was told about my implants, but this is just one of those things that there are no clear cut answers and the risks aren't really discussed so it is hard to prepare for them. The future seems uncertain, but I do know one thing: that taking out the implants gives you the very, very best shot at getting things back to normal. Do you think the inflamation would go down, where they would not be so red and the blood vessels so dialated if the implants were removed and it was them affecting me. Also I understand that there are great doctors the only thing is I cant afford it now or even soon. I spent over 15,000 dollars inthe last three years to re-do them and I am pretty broke. I feel so ugly with my eyes like this and I cant be sure its from the implants so thats another reason i am aafraid of taking them out. Would a lift be required. I am so scared and depressed and I cant tell anyone I know because I am embarrssed. And I am only 21 and still live home and my parents would KILL me. Last, if it is not a disease just a reaction to the implant are my chances of getting better, better.
