I too can tell this. I've had to pee into a jug for the last 24 hours for a

urine test (5-HIAA) Dr. ordered, and I can barely stand up with the

jug held open because of the ghastly odor coming from the jug! I thought

maybe I was hallucinating!

So you think its the Lipoic Acid? I definitely have not noticed a difference

in how I feel since starting the Lipoic Acid and have been thinking of

stopping. Maybe it's more subtle?

How do we know for sure that the smell means it's " doing it's thing " ? For all

we really know, the rep that was quoted on this list could be told to say

that, just to keep people buying it! Don't anyone get mad at me for saying

this, I'm just not interested in taking expensive supplements that dont make

me feel better (and not a single one does).

<< This is very intesting to me because every single time I take Alpha Lipoic

Acid my urine stinks so bad!! I always wondered why? I wonder what is

making that smell...is it toxins being released or is it just the smell that

comes when the pill is digested? Interesting. >>

Hi, Adrienne,

This sounds good, but hGH, like a lot of hormones, changes 'normal' level

with age, exercise, and general fitness. So trying to supplement up to the

normal value is more of a problem than it sounds. It turns into a judgement

call, best made by a specialist who is up to date with the latest research

on it. (Just don't ask how to find one of those, unless they are involved in

clinical trials ;-) )

Yes, they have to take Medicare - but they don't have to take a new patient

who is covered by Medicare. If you have already been a patient there they

are supposed to continue to treat you even if you change coverage to

Medicare, but since they aren't obligated to take new patients they can use

that as a way to avoid Medicare's puny reimbursements and horrendous

paperwork.

Prednisone is usually started at a high doseage.then after it " kicks " in it

is slowly tapered back a bit to the lowest doseage that still works for you.

We call it the good drug / bad drug ; ) Joanne

I am looking into a lawsuit against Mentor. I was NOT part of a clinical study, and I do know there have been some successful settlements against Mentor. I am looking up information on the attorney involved. I do know that one or two of them that represented the plaintiff were from Texas. Does anyone have any further information on this? Thank you!!

Have a Great Day!

We started the abilify last night per the doctors recommendations and my son was

restless and up all thru the night. I'm contacting the doc in the morning to see

if we can take it in the morning instead. Let me keep my fingers crossed that

this works and we will see the improvement with his focus and hyperactivity.

That is what we used it for. The klonopin seemed to help that too so then we put her on metadate to help the impulsivness, lack of concentration,etc-the ADHD symptoms she had.

Isnt Abilify used more for agitation, tantrums, rage and aggression?

I don't know about all of those symptoms, but my son, who is on it is the most well behaved, gentle child you could ever dream of having. He is on it for attention and focus issues as well as OCD issues. It seems to work well, just not a cure, of course. It hasn't made him restless or zombie like, just less "in his own world of movies" as my husband puts it.

Just got a call from the doc office and they want to take him off all

med's b/c he is having a " parodoxal " (i'm sure I killed the spelling on

that) effect from the medications and they want us back in. We were

just there on Wednesday for our hour evaluation appt. I told him at

that time that Nicky has always had reverse side-effects from

medications.

So far the only thing that has been chilling him out.....Ibuprofen! I

gave him some for a loose tooth and he got a " wonderful " on his daily

progress report! Since then, whenever I give him the motrin he is

fine! Now I know that I cannot keep him on this, however I wonder what

is in there that does it for him?

I'll see what the teachers say in school today. Thanks 2 everyone for

responding. My son is in the autistic kindergarten class but yet they

are bothered by his " autistic behaviors " . I'm like...come on..this is

sooo typical for kids on the spectrum. Give me a break!

My son does not have aggression or tantrums, ever. It is his

impulsiveness, and attention issues. Regular adhd med's dont' work

for him.

He had a great day at school today. I called the doc and told them

that I would like to stay on it and try giving him the pill in the

morning. (i think i will give him 1/2 for a week to see how that

works).

He crashed on top of me on the couch at 6:30 this evening. Poor baby.

Now I have all this spare time in the evening and I don't know what to

do with myself. My fiance is giving me the " let's get it on " signals

and I'm like...whatever....we have cable and internet...leave me alone

so I can sleep! lol
