Good Morning,

I was thinking about what to dilute tea tree and lavender combo with. I

think commercially prepared witch hazel would be nice as it is an

astringent.

I have a good recipe for a tea tree/peppermint soap that works great on

breakouts of all kinds. Gave some to my dentist and just went by his office

and he is excited because his neck has broken out all his life from shaving

and it is cleared up. If you would like the recipe, please e-mail me

privately. It is made using a M & P base.

Tea Tree oil!

You can use it straight (like I do) or dilute it if he has sensitive skin.

Ok, I had quite a few people interested in the recipe so I will post it here.

Tea Tree oil is said to have anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. Tea

Tree oil can be irritating to some with sensitive skin, but there is not a

whole lot in the soap, and I haven't had any complaints so far.

I got this recipe on another list and do not remember who I got it from, so

please just use for personal use. Actually, this was a dog soap recipe, but

my husband started using it for the rash/breakout he got from sweating under

his bulletproof vest. So, I have given a lot to friends with break outs and

fungal problems and everyone loves it. My husband has oily skin and I have

dry skin and it works well for both of us.

Tea Tree - Peppermint Glycerin Soap

4 oz melt and pour base (I use clear and color it green)

1 tbsp herbal shampoo - I use Suave or Herbal Essence (Clairol)

400 IU vitamin E

1/4 tsp liquid glycerin

1/4 tsp tea tree essential oil

1/4 tsp peppermint essential oil

Melt the base and add the rest of the ingredients.

M & P is melt and pour and it is a type of soap that does not need to be made

with lye this process has already been done. There are many types of M & P so

read the ingredients not all are the same. I got mine in a coop so I can't

help you with the where to buy but I am sure there are others that can.

Also when asking for a recipe or something like that you should do it

privately so that others don't have to deal with your request. Questions

are good for the list but 50 me too's get tiring.

Being the neat EO use policewoman that I am, I would always use any EO

diluted even Tea tree or Lavender, it works just a swell, and there is a

greatly reduced risk of sensitization. HAving said that, I would use

Manuka (Leptospermum scoparium) EO for acne, it works wonders. You can

wet a q-tip with witch hazel, and then put a scant drop of Manuka on the

q-tip, and then dab on the acne lesions once a day. You will see a

remarkable difference. Just be aware that his acne is from internal

causes, hormones, etc, and that while things that you put on topically

will help, they can not 'cure' the problem. Best wishes, he has my

sympathy!

Kay-

I have to admit that I know nothing about taking care of pets with skin

conditions, other than knowing you should never use Essential oils on

cats as they cannot metabolize them... but I would suggest going to

http://lavendercat.com and asking Sue for advice. Also, you might ask

Marge e, I know I remember her talking about someone in particular

as having written a great book about using natural solutions for pet

care. The name escapes me for the moment, I admit.

from our website:

leptospermum scoparium New Zealand, Organic. Steam distilled, leaves.

Similar in action to Tea Tree, but much less

medicinal in aroma, this healing oil is honey

scented. Use as you would Tea Tree, anti-bacterial,

anti-fungal and anti-viral.

It is proven effective against both Strep and Staph

infections .

Experimental use has shown it helpful in dealing with

the symptoms of Chronic Fatigue. I

find it milder and less irritating than Tea Tree in

skin care products . This has

become, in our house, one of the " must have " oils.

your skin will clear up real fast, just learn to eat like an O.

Hi,

I just joined the club.

I became interested in blood type diet in connection to acne problem.

Has anyone have any experience with it? I'm type O.

While I never had acne, I did have breakouts

occasionally along my hairline and on my chin. Since I

started eating like an " O " my skin is glowing and

problem-free. One slip-up though and my face will show

it.

Hello, I find that when I slip and eat wheat or flor products that I tend to

break out. I had severe acne in high school, 37 now and have dealt with it

coming and going all my life, but not at all to the extent of high school.

It's been about a year and a half since I started the diet and I have

noticed, like I said, when I eat wheat or flour products.

Tina,

I'm finding I do much the same. At senior citizens they wonder how I do so

well with eating the way I should when most of the time I have to take most

of my meal. If they had to put up with the itching, I don't think they would

have any trouble either.

Sugar is an immune system inhibitor, and most times, cutting sugar out of

your diet can have dramatic effects on acne. Look at softdrinks, especially

.. . . stop them, add lots of clean water instead.

And my fave, a good CP soap with about 1 Tbls. tea tree EO, and 1-2 Tbls.

finely ground oatmeal added (or one Tbls. oatmeal and 1 Tbls. powdered dried

parsley) per pound added.
