Fw:smoking and breast implants

I had asked Dr. Zuckerman a question about the flight attendant who won a class action lawsuit several years ago after she contracted lung cancer from second hand smoke. I wondered if she had breast implants--if she did, that could have had a bearing on her diagnosis that was not explored. I don't know if the flight attendant in question had breast implants or not, but here is Dr. Zuckerman's reply:

In the NCI study, all the implant women who died of breast cancer also smoked. But women without implants who smoked were less likely to die than those with implants. I think its the combination that is most dangerous, rather than implants alone. That could certainly apply to the flight attendant too.
