Guest guest
I had asked Dr. Zuckerman a question about the flight attendant who won a class action lawsuit several years ago after she contracted lung cancer from second hand smoke. I wondered if she had breast implants--if she did, that could have had a bearing on her diagnosis that was not explored. I don't know if the flight attendant in question had breast implants or not, but here is Dr. Zuckerman's reply: ----- Original Message ----- From: Zuckerman Patty Faussett Sent: Saturday, March 08, 2003 7:31 PM Subject: RE: Article about controversy about study on breast implants In the NCI study, all the implant women who died of breast cancer also smoked. But women without implants who smoked were less likely to die than those with implants. I think its the combination that is most dangerous, rather than implants alone. That could certainly apply to the flight attendant too.
