Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I havn't written in awile. I've been trying to de tox this silicone from my body after my explant for the last 6 weeks. I sent my implants to Dr. Pierre Blais. I just recieved his letter He has examined my explanted implants. The report in part ,reads as follows: The implants are confirmed as Mentor saline inflatable mammary prostheses. If inserted in 1995, they would have had to originate from prototype or investigational supplies. The identification as Mentor products is definitive. The right implant is punctured, not ruptured. The characteristics of the damage are consistent with penetration by a sharp object, most probably a hyperdermic needle. Conversly, the deflation you noted, as indidcated in your letter of 4/23/03, most probably resulted from failure of the valve mechanism. Significantly, both of your implants show a major manufacturing defect at the valve. Both would have leaked from the outset. Thus, both were defective. Further, the left inplant contains large quatities of microorganisms. Many usere of Mentor saline implants encounter complications traceable to major production defects. Moreover, product inserts do not present a forthright assessement of the risks inherent to use of the product. Users of Mentor implants manufactured after 1991 are not comprised in the MDL 926 compensation programs. Mentors warranties regarding product integrity are applicable only in situations where the implant is replaced by another of the same origion. Thus, compensation from the manufacturer is strongly dependent on direct negotiations between the namnfacturer and the user or her legal representative. Reimbursability criteria fro Mentor would include siturations where implants show frank manufacturing defects, such as faulty valves. I was wondering if anyone had any comments and advise on what to do. I have two concerns. One, do I have a legal case and if so with whom. I never thought in a million years, I would ever consider a law suit, but I am considering it. Also, I wanted to know if anyone had heard of an oxygen sauna? I am currently sweating to de tox every day for 30 minutes. I wonder about the ozone. Also, I am having trouble with arthritis in my neck and am sceduled to get a " facet block " . This means they put cortisone into the facet joint to hopefully help with the pain. I am worried about any side effects especially because I am so sensitive. I am hoping it doesn't cause any more problems. ANY advice would be very much appreiciated. You guys are the only ones who understand. Thanks so much for being there.
