Guest guest
I had trouble with the brake and gas pedal. So now I drive with hand controls. They are simple and really inexpensive. If you buy a new vehicle from Chevy or GMC they will reimburse you up to $1,000 for disability equipment that you need to install. S. Guest guest
Hi Pat, I'm getting really scared about driving also lately. I keep my right foot leaning towards the right enough so it rests on the carpet. I know what you mean though, no feeling...no brake.. no gas. The other day I had to pull out in traffic and didn't hit the gas hard enough and the guy behind me honked at me. A couple of years ago I thought something was wrong with my car because it was racing and wanted to go, I was trying to pull into a parking lot, and I think back now and I might have had my foot on both the gas and brake at the same time. I havent't been driving too much lately, but have to reevaluate this situation.
Guest guest
, You should really look into hand controls. I use them and have total confidence in driving again and it was very easy for me to adjust to. The good thing is that one can still use the feet to drive so you have an option. Guest guest
I am SO much happier and feel so much safer now that I've had hand controls installed in my car. Let me know if you want more specific information. Ruth
Guest guest
My last official driving was on December 4th. My mother was with me and I nearly killed us both. It really shook me up and helped me to decide whether or not to try again. My doctor advised against it several months ago, I guess he was right. Guest guest
Where does one go to get hand controls, and to get them installed? Also, do you have to go through any special 'training' in order to use them, or are they pretty much 'ready-to-go' out of the box?
Guest guest
Does anyone have information for California? I think my husband needs hand controls and Toyota will pay some of it since our Prius is new. Elinor
