The Bible says that money is the root of all evil. That is nowhere clearer than in the implant business.

This makes not sense to me. Do you know why this is?FDA approved breast implants, what, in 1999? 2000? And women are still getting sick. AND McGhan as a settlement set up ONLY for women who "got a disease" from the implants (implanted before 1991.)That's like an admission, isn't it?

I know doctors whose wives were sick from implants, and these doctors aren't afraid of the truth. It seems that the ones who are in denial fight most vehemently against us.

The original attorneys who worked for the women in the Dow case and won judgements against Dow on their behalf know the truth too. They went through so much, and still are....the battle isn't over yet.

It is true, money "is" the root to all evil.All these doctors and attorney I know whose wives have breast implants, it's amazing. I would think they know the truth. My old family physician, Dr. Neuman, his wife has them. This is all so mind boggling!

I don't think anyone knows or understands fully why some women have problems with implants while others do not, at least not in the same time frames. (I do think all women will have troubles with their implants at some time in the future whether it is one year or 20 years).

For some, it is definitely a reaction to the shell, or the breakdown products of the shell. Platinum was used as a catalyst in the manufacture of implants, and some women have been tested and found to have excessively high levels of platinum in their bodies.

On the other hand, it may be a factor related to the load on the immune system. As Dr. Crinnion explained it to me, your immune system is like a bucket, and when you start adding toxins to your system, your immune system bucket starts to fill up. At some point in time, the amount of toxins overflows.....and that is when disease shows up. He stated that perhaps getting implants for some women is the "straw that breaks the camel's back."

For some women, it may be a combination of the two that does them in. We just don't know.

It would be nice if there was some other type of material they could use, but so far, in 40 years nobody has come up with anything else.

Just because people have foreign objects in their body doesn't mean that they are not reacting to them. In our files section, we do have studies that have shown people have reacted to silicone in other areas of their bodies. For instance, those who had joint replacements for rheumatoid arthritis have had bone destruction in the area where the silicone joints were. Silicone is not inert, contrary to what doctors initially told women. No foreign object can be inserted in the body without a reaction of some type. Whether or not the reaction is benign is the question. As for those who have had replacement organs, don't forget they also have to take immune suppressive drugs for the rest of their lives, otherwise their own bodies would fight the foreign organ. It is just not a simple subject.....

Also another wierd question, do you think women have problems with implants because of something in the shell, or a foreighn object in general. I just wonder if there is some knid of missinglink since it is like 50/50 get sick/and dont. Maybe if a change in the shell was made or the shell made of something else. Maybe like a different shell filled with your own body fat.... Like i said I wounder because people have all kinds of foreign objects put in them, even other peoples organs.
