Kim,

It may or may not be necessary to do en bloc for you----the important thing to have done is a total capsulectomy. En bloc removal was usually necessary for those with silicone gel implants that had leaked, and doing en bloc removals ensured that the whole unit was removed as one piece, the implant and scar capsule together so that any floating silicone would remain trapped in the capsule. However, with saline, it may not be that critical--you could possibly have the implant drained first then have a total capsulectomy. Either way, the point is that the whole capsule needs to come out, not just the implant. Some doctors are careless or don't see the importance of removing the whole capsule, and may leave the posterior one in out of convenience, then tell you that it's doing you a favor by helping to fluff out your flattened boobs. Ha, what deception. The truth is that any remaining scar tissue can continue to elicit an immune response because of residual silicone particles, or gunk left behind in the scar tissue from colonization, granulomas, etc. When you see a surgeon for removal, you really need to get the point across that you want NOT ONLY your implants out, but the entire capsule as well, and you want drains to be used to help drain off the fluid that will collect in the pocket. The fluid can contain nasties too, and using drains can assist in your healing, preferable they will use a closed drain system.

Rogene,

I am looking into the Mannatech products too, and in fact, am waiting on my first order to arrive. I have struggled with the whole MLM issue, big time, and really couldn't decide how I felt about the whole thing. Lori, the woman from my church with the totally amazing story of going from 4 years in a wheelchair to walking again in 5 months on Mannatech products, was my biggest reason for giving it a try...I mean, her life is living proof that it worked for her. She took me to a regional meeting that was held here in Las Vegas Friday night, and I heard more stories of amazing healing....it sounds almost too good to be true, and I have always been cautious about this kind of stuff, but I guess I felt that if I didn't TRY it, I would be the one losing out. The fact that this company is headed by a Christian and has a mercy ministry, called MannaRelief, swayed my final decision. That, and the fact that two local doctors have found it produces amazing results with their patients.

In the meantime, I found this article on the net,

http://www.lis.net.au/%7Edbird/glyconutrients.htm

and I will be planting Aloe Vera plants in my yard to harvest. The biggest problem with aloe vera products seems to be maintaining the potency of the mannose immediately after harvest. So, it seems logical that the best way to get this is injestion right after picking.

Barring that, hopefully the glyconutrients provided by the Mannatech products will be the answer. Right now, they own the patent on glyconutrient technology, so they are the only way to get this product.

I'm anxious to find out if it works. The test for me will be if it normalizes my elevated rheumatoid factor, my lowered C3 complement, and sends my Hashimoto's into permanent remission. If it does that, then I will be able to say that God has finally healed me! I'm trying not to be too excited...

Subject: Re: To Rogene

Keep in mind that I'm not a doctor . . what I tell you is based on my own experience, and that of the other ladies who have participated in support groups. This is probably longer than you bargained for . . . but you asked!!!!

If you're not already on antibiotics for a mycoplasma infection, you likely should be. Some of the ladies may be able to recommend a doctor. I can recommend a research scientist . . . Dr. Garth Nicolson, Ph.D, research scientist in San Diego. He does not see patients, but he can recommend a protocol for your physician to supervise. . . .Finding a doctor to supervise it may be another problem . . He can recommend some doctors. You can do a websearch for him to read his papers. He will reply to a personal email. . . but please respect his time, or he may not be as accomodating.

Important books to read are "The Yeast Connection" (or a similar book - there are quite a few good ones) . . .and "Patient Heal Thyself" . . . Before starting on Primal Defense, they recommend two weeks of Fungal Defense. IMHO, these are the two most important products. After reading the book, you may find others that apply to you. Personally, I don't think I am/was sick enough to benefit very much from the strict diet they recommend. However, if you are very ill . . . I think their diet program would be very beneficial.. . A non-implant friend is following a very similar diet for Celic disease and is doing fantastic. I KNOW the diet is a good one!

If you are using Primal Defense, and not eliminating sugar and reducing yeast-encouraging foods, you are wasting your time and money. It simply won't work. They recommend working up to eight tablets a day for three months, then maintaining with three tablets. Basically the author of "Patient . . ." says that because of modern (chemical) farming, modern (sanitary) food production, chlorinated water, toxins and antibotics, we have killed off essential, beneficial organisms in our body. This allows the negative ones (always present) to create an overgrowth that leads to a wide range of physical and mental problems. .. IMHO, there is an epidemic of candida in the USA today . . . but most doctors don't recognize it, or if they do, are hesitant to say anything. My own doctor told me she hesitates to mention candida.

Did you say you are using an infrared sauna? . . . It's outstanding for muscle pain/headaches, etc. . . Do a websearch for "infrared sauna" to read the benefits. I have a Health Mate . . . apparently more expensive than many, but the infrared light units have a lifetime warranty. I don't think their explanation of the benefits is as good as some other manufacturer's though. If you use one, stretching while in the sauna, and afterwards can be very beneficial.

Also beneficial . . . deep tissue massage . . . You most likely have fibromyalgia. As a result, the tissue that covers your skin becomes very tight. This causes, not only the muscle to hurt, but the joints also. Deep massage can be exceedingly painful . .. for only a moment. Then blessed, lasting relief. I found that, with deep massage, I could give up the muscle relaxers and pain killers. . . Although you may want to take a pain killer before getting the massage! . . Massage gets expensive . . . I know one man who learned massage therapy from a book so he could help his wife. Where there's a will, there's a way.

A sleep disorder is part of fibromyalgia. Getting deep sleep is essential because that's when the tissues to heal. I have to take a sleep med to sleep (the only med I now take). Some doctors are very hesitant to give sleep meds, others know it's important. . . . If your doctor doesn't understand that, he/she doesn't understand fibromyalgia. Find another doctor!

Anybody with all this going on is going to be depressed . . . As you begin to get rid of the candida and pain, your depression will gradually disappear. You can help reduce depression by consciously taking control of your health and working on it. . . Exercising, even if it's just a few minutes at a time, repeated as often as you can tolerate will not only help your body heal by improving your circulation and strength, but will increase the endorphins that improve our mental state.

And, speaking of mental state, you need to find a way to get rid of as many stressors as possible . . . Don't encourage the company of negative people . . . Avoid newscasts . . . Watch funny TV shows . . . avoid the negative ones. And, I know we all have the right to be incredibly angry at what is going on with implants! . . . But, if dwelling on it makes you feel worse, find a way to walk away for the time being.

Something that works very quick is raw, crushed garlic. . .Patty recommends as many as 20 cloves a day . . . I mix it with a bit of mayo and eat it with a bit of bread and thin-sliced sandwich ham. Eating an apple afterwards helps reduce the after taste. It is a natural antibiotic and anti-fungal. It apparently does not create the resistance to it that prescription antibiotics and anti-fungals do. If I have a flare, this is my first line of defense. I can tell the difference within 24 hours.

There are some other detox programs that can work very well. Patty has fasted and used enemas. . . has used a two-week Enzyme Therapy program called Whole Body Cleanse. I'm going to try that one myself. When I was still very sick, I used a liver detox program from www.theherbfinder.com that I felt helped a lot. . . . Within a few days I felt that I came out from under a cloud into the sunshine. It sounds as though the Whole Body Cleanse will do an even more thorough job. Pesonally, I prefer programs that have a definitive start and stop time, rather than follow a program indefinitely. The herx effect can be considerably worse though.

I can't emphasize how important it is to drink large amounts of water while you are detoxing. 100 ounces a day wouldn't be too much! But it needs to be good water . . . no chlorine! I'm fortunate to have access to untreated spring water that, tested to assure safety, from nearby Hot Springs, Arkansas. Any water you buy has to be treated! You can purchase filter systems to process your own water.

There is an area of Gluconutrients that I'm trying to understand. . . I have the book "Sugars That Heal" and have contacted a Mannatech representative. She's been sending me information every day. . . and will call me Thursday. ly, I'm overwhelmed with the information. I'm convinced that they are onto something, but I can't sort it out. I'm hesitant to purchase anything sold multi-level too. . . Their maintenance program costs $100 a month!!! . . . .One "essential sugar" that we have easy access to is aloe vera. I've been drinking 8 ounces a day and think I do feel better with it. One implant woman told me that she got her health back through gluconutrients . . she recommended the book to me.

I can't think of anything else right now . . . doesn't mean I covered everything though. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene

I sure will...by the way, can you get a testimony from the lady who had implants that got her health back from glyconutrients?

Barbara,

Lori, who signed me up and is working with a doctor, suggested I be on 5 different products...the Ambrotose AO, Ambrotose, Glycentials, Plus, and Manna Cleanse. I've got an order in for all of those, and no, it wasn't cheap, but I checked out the ingredient lists on all of them and they looked very good. I think the ingredients are all very high quality. The Ambrotose AO is an antioxidant blend, Ambrotose is their original flagship product based on the glyconutrients, the Glycentials is a multivitamin/multimineral, the Plus is for endocrine support, and the Manna cleanse has herbs, fibers, essential oils and probiotics for a healthy digestive tract. It is really very comprehensive, and I won't be taking any other supplements but these.

I don't want to give any recommendations until I try them for myself, but from what I have read, it seems to be a very well studied technology, one of the most important technological discoveries in recent years.

(I hope if you consider buying some of them you sign up with someone you know! )

Thanks,

Patty

I would def get the book, 1st. Patient Heal thyself it will help you decide what products are for what symptoms, and give you a clearer picture on what other things to go by. It also explains the soil organisms and the important role that they play so clearly. I would get the book, and also start ton the Fungal Defense program for 2 weeks, and then the Primal Defense.

I wouldn’t do too much other than that in the beginning, because I have learned if you do too much at once, instead of intoducing and giving things a chance at a slower pace, you will never know what is really working. That could later cause you to give up taking them all together as the expense gets so high taking so many things. Try to do these things for about 2 months first. See how it is working and focus on that. Make sure to start off with the dosages recommended, it works so well, you may begin to herx fast. So try to go slow. It took yrs to get ill, and will take time to get better- so take the smart pace, and good luck. The book has been a lifesaver, and an eye opener.

I have some primal defense questions... I went on the site but was at a loss as to what to order. There are so many things on there! Brief overview - I am 5.5 months post explant (saline for 7 years) and still have a ton of headaches and neck spasms/stiffness and yeast issues. When analyzed, the implants were proved to be leaking and had numerous different crap growing inside along with Aspergillus and staph to name a few. Any ideas of what I should start with? I still take a lot of meds for depression, pain, and muscle relaxers but I really want to rid my body of this mess altogether. thanks for your help!!

Thanks for all of the info. I guess I need to find a " real " doctor out there

that believes our issues as my primary does not. Does anyone have a

recommendation for a doctor in the Tampa area? I know I need to be treated for

the mold and bateria but I don't know where to start finding a doc to help.

have tried the deep massage and it is wonderful but not something I can afford

very often. I have never tried the infrared sauna and I am doubting that I

could afford that either. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia back in January but

luckily not anything else yet. Dr Blais suggested an " infectious disease "

doctor to treat the garbage he found in the imlants but I haven't really looked

yet. I just found out last week about the aspergillus, etc. I definatley have

sleep issues and have trouble getting rest. Of course I have a two year old

little boy which doesn't help much in the " rest " area! I wake up at least 3-4

times a night but I think it is anxiety more than anything. I am not terribly

sick - I still work full time but I am always very sore and tired and the

headaches are horrible. I just want the constant " flu " to go away and have my

energy back. I will try more garlic, too. thanks again for all of the info -

any othe things you or anyone else could suggest would be greatly appreciated.
