I saw my new rheumatologist today. I told myself this was it. If

she's like the others, I'm going to give up on doctors and fend for

myself.

She spent oodles of time with me and she asked me a ton of

questions. She's a tough cookie, foward, direct, helpful, young (44)

I filled her in on me, not mentioning the breast implants until the

end. When I did, she listened. She never waivered. She looked me

right in the eye and listened intently. I told her just a bit of this

and a bit of that as to not scare her off. She said she didn't think

saline breast implants hurt women, never heard that they do or did,

said that there's no lawsuits going right now on that. I

said, " Well, we have to start somewhere, don't we? " (hee hee) When

she said she didn't think they made women ill, she said it in a sort

of quizical way, not an arrogant way. She told me that to be a

doctor means you are " practicing " medicine and that a doctor needs to

stay open-minded....especially in her feild where there are truly so

many unknowns! So I found her to be very open and wanting to

help. I mean, she actually said, " What else can I do for you

today? " She even gave me prescriptions to help me sleep.

By the way, what does Naprosyn do? Will it help me? She also gave

me Flexeril. Will that help?

I asked her about the T Cell sensitivity test and how Dr. Kolb

recommended it. She wrote it down and said she would look into it.

I told her about the women I've met recently (you gals). She seemed

curious. Then I asked her if I got her the phone number of a doctor

who believe these implants make women ill and cause disease, would

you be willing to speak to her? She said yes. I could not believe

my ears.

Does anyone know if Dr. Feng would be willing to speak to her? Would

Dr. Kolb? I spoke to Dr. Kolb. She's great. But isn't Dr. Feng

the one who does all the extensive research....etc? This new doc of

mine said she'll only speak to the MD if the MD actually works in the

feild of breast implants and knows what she/he is talking about.

Also, I have got to get educated very quickly here. Can you guys

help? When I try to explain things to this doctor, I don't alway use

proper medical terminology and I can tell it bugs her.

She tried to explain ANA to me, lupus findings, blah, blah. We

seemed to disconnect a few times. Frustrating.

If I'm going to keep her on my side, keep her listening and helping,

I have to get smart here realy quick.

Like when I tried explaining to her how women who are ill and get

explanted they begin to feel better and their blood tests come back

clear. What blood test? I need specific names. She asked me about

a biopsy. I'm clueless................

I'm collecting all my med records this week and plan to drop them

off at her office (hopefully by friday) so she can review them. I

was thinking of slipping in a thing or two on breast implants and

disease, something that will make her sit up and take notice.....

Dee :-)
