I had a bad sore throat and it was as red a a cherry and you could see all the little veins and lets dont forget the headache from hell. Yes I ate alot of ice cream until my gastro gave me the swish and swallow. They said I need to get a flu shot:(They looked down my throat red, raw looking but no puss, but I am told there is an infection. I have no idea how I all this could happen! I have not had the flu or even a cold in so long, so I am not going to believe this part about the flu. I have had no food in 2 days since I can't swallow it is so bad to spite is extremely painful.Been telling the doctor at the liver center that since that stomach scope my throat hurts and I have trouble swallowing, he told me to boil ginger and drink it, so once again I have a serious condition because they did not look after me. Please remember, that your immune system has been terribly compromised. Treatment would be the first to blame; but, with what you've been going through, it really isn't surprising, that your poor immune system is screaming HELP.Yes, do treat it exactly like a cold or the flu and get the antibiotics. I have to tell you, although my husband had been diagnosed with lung cancer, that certainly wasn't what he dies from. He would get his normal bout with pneumonia and as usual, would not take care of it. So obviously, that pneumonia got a real good grip and wouldn't let go, while he was in the hospital. Guest guest Posted January 30, 2011 Report Share Posted January 30, 2011 Hi,sorry to reply to everybody at once, not feel so good today.Yes I have been drinking at tea and soup, I have been having to the smoothies too.Yes I know that I need to eat, it is so so hard now, the little I do eat s forced. I know that my body is still trying to heal itself.Yes they gave penicillin and some nasty liquid to drink which numbs my throat.
