VIDEO - Berkeley’s Hepatitis B campaign:"Music Video Party" Talented Student Raising Awareness

The public is invited to the “Check Your Signal†music video premiere party. The party will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb., 11, 2011 at the Saturn Cafe located at 2175 Allston Way, in Berkeley, CA. Expect food, music, giveaways, and of course, a preview of the music video..

Ronquillo, 25, is also currently involved in Berkeley’s Hep B campaign, which aims to raise awareness of Hepatitis B among the university’s Asian American population. He can be seen in the 2011 Hep B Free calendar titled “Hep B can affect any one of us…â€

Hepatitis B is a disease caused by infection with the hepatitis B virus (HBV). Infection with HBV can lead to cirrhosis of the liver, liver failure, and liver cancer. 80% of liver cancer worldwide is caused by HBV infection.

“Check Your Signal†will debut on YouTube on Single Awareness Day, Feb. 14, 2011.

Tan Ronquillo is a Filipino-Chinese-Emo-American from San , California. He’s also a Public Health grad student at UC Berkeley, but after school, the glasses come off and he’s a one-man boy band. Between midterms, he wrote and recorded “Check Your Signal†entirely by himself in the closet of his studio apartment. The “Check Your Signal†music video was filmed by Huy Vu, and features styling by Annie Wang and choreography by Lee Pazmino (who danced with up-and-coming recording artist Timberlake).
