MarieFirst of all, don't you pay any attention to what that _itch had to say!! Obviously, she doesn't look around herself at all, to see all the hurt and pain in today's society. Probably one of those that would trip over the crack in the sidewalk because her nose is stick up too high.Have you talked to perhaps a Social Worker at that clinic?? There's got to be a little bedroom in someone's home for you. I just don't understand why it is sooo hard these days.My son gets a little bit worried about me now; because he knows that I'm going to have to struggle some to be sure that I can live where I am. Not that the rent is too high or anything. Just that a widow's pension

and the disability isn't quite enough to maintain "my level" of living. LOL My level!! My level is where ever I fit into each day.I cant take this anymore! i have 3 days with no where to go i finally begged the nurse at the clinical trial she told me to get a job like everyone else & take care of myself & not expect everyone to take care of me & maybe go back to my husband

Okay... marie I want you to take a deep breath... In and out...  now do it again.   I know you didn't do it..  BREATHE.  LISTEN TO ME.....  Your problem is the same on or off treatment right now...  so quitting treatment does not help you one way or the other.. if anything it's going to hurt you.  The nurse... everyone has an opinion..  she can keep hers to herself.  Right now you need to find a place to live..  whether or not you are on treatment you have the same issue right?  So lets tackle the big one.. the place to live.  There is no reason to quit treatment too.   You need to get up tomorrow morning and get out of the house first thing and be somewhere where they can help you get into housing immediately.  Do you have any income at all or a family member that can help you out.  Worst case scenario, you can be put up in a motel that rents by the week.  Check the papers for someone that has a room to rent close by...  Since you are in the shelter you must have a case worker there or close by that is working with you...  that person needs to help you right now but you need to be very pro-active and assertive.  Going back to your husband is not an option... not if you want to be alive.  The hospital that is associated with your clinical trial.  They have a Social Services Department.  BE THERE TOMORROW MORNING and ask for help.  Let them know that you uprooted to come up for this trial.  Tell them EVERYTHING.  They have resources.  The nurse at the clinical trial has no resources... Social Services at the hospital DOES.

Beth,Yes, there are time limits at every shelter.  But more importantly the shelter marie is at is a battered womens shelter and their rules are strict.  60 days to start with and then they have an extension or two available.  Those rooms are desperately needed by women who are in immediate harms way.  Those women get priority placement.  marie has been lucky that they have let her stay there this long.  Usually though, they also have halfway houses..... marie, have you asked about those?  They should have some sort of a step placement thing there...  Out of the immediate shelter of the house but still in an assisted setting....?
