wish ours was snow, we are getting the ice/sleet and freezing rain. It took

me two days to chip the ice off my car so I could even get the door open. My

drive is either mud or ice depending on how deep the water is standing at a

given point. I sure will be glad to see Spring come! :-)

And let's not forget the lack of humidity! I'm in IL, and I thought it was

humid here, until I went to Florida!

Re: snow

I was born and raised in Florida, moved to Co. 3 years ago to get out of the

heat, away from the roaches, misquitoes, and people. There is a very good thing

here, the prarie and the mountains have places where nobody lives........ In

Fla they build on top of each other there......

Love the wide open spaces, the majestic mountains and blue sky.

Even the snow

Yea, it's like having your own sauna, whether you want it or not. :) I

just can't take the cold and the snow. I was raised in New Orleans,

so I'm used to the humidity.

Hi Hepster,

Isn't Ellisville, FL near Lake City. It sounds familiar. Maybe I've seen

the name on my way to Walt Disney World. I'm in Niceville, FL, north of

Destin. Lot's of " nice " people here. I'll take the heat over the snow

any day.

I seen that on the news. We have been getting snow off and on all day

today. We are over in Republic, WA. North Eastern WA. It was to cold to

go sledding though. We never got above zero degrees today. Yesterday it

was 22 below zero when I got up and it never got warmer then 9 below all

day. Brrrrrrrrrr One guy at work that lives higher up had 40 below zero.

The locks at work were frozen and we couldn't even get in the building!

It's so nice to visualize snow falling when it's 80 and muggy and you think

cool weather is never coming back!

Jan, in what part of Australia do you live?

One of my daughters spent a semester there last

year. While there, she met a young chef from

Johanesburg. They plan to marry and want to live in

Melbourne. She HATES snow! If you are in ,

maybe I can convince her to stay closer to home.

We had no power but we did have heat. We have a gas fireplace in the

kitchen. Our power was turned on yesterday - Saturday afternoon.

Fortunately we have a small battery powered tv but all we could get was

reports of the storm and some old sit coms. Used a lot of candles. Only

lost 3 containers of ice cream in the refrigerator freezer. There are still

thousands without power. We are so busy at the store. Everyone coming in

for meals and coffee and doughnuts.....

We're getting bombarded here outside of Utica. I've already been outside

shoveling 3 times today and it's non-stop.

They said it probably won't stop until tomorrow. YUCK!! But thank God

it's kind of a light snow - not filled with

a lot of water or anything.

RE: recipe for bug soap

Yea its been lightly snowing all day. I think its put down 2 maybe 3

inches so far.

My office is in Leroy so it was a long drive home to Naples. It was

weird how some roads were really bad while others were fine. It's a

heavy, wet snow here too. Since I work for Boces, if all of the schools

in the Genesee Valley region close, I get a snow day too. We all made a

pact to wear our pajamas on backwards tonight like the kids do when they

want a snow day! ;-)

That's funny, my sister LIVES in Leroy, works here in Rochester.

Tomarrow my dad has to drive out to Leroy to pick my niece up from

school then back home herein rochester/greece to watch my nephews

hockey game and wait until my sister gets out of work tomarrow night,

then back home they go. So my dad will spend a hile out in the snow. I

said he should leave early and just spend a while out there so he

isn't just constantly driving in this yucky stuff. It was WET and

sticky and now the roads are getting all slushy and just YUCK.

Where in North Syracuse and we got about 4 inches and everything is
