Guest guest
Thanks for all your input, We will be looking for another Doctor. The more I think about that visit the worse it seems. I have to be able to communicate with the doctor we choose. When asking questions of that doctor he really went off subject, saying he left the big hospitals because they experiment too much, saying he was sick of dealing only with livers. Then he launched about all the people he's treated, most not speaking english and how much they think of him. I think culture might be part of it but certainly not the whole picture. I have dealt with Indian doctors in the past and had no problems same with Chinese. I think it was just this guy and he was offended that I questioned him. Guest guest
Be sure you take results of the Hep C labs; what strain ( 1b ) and the quantative ( viral load ) and I can't remember if you have biopsy. If so take that . Go prepared . Another Doc will need these to offer opinion. If you don't take those, he will need to do all those, so it could be a month before a new Dr can advise .http://facebook.com/people/andTrudy-Kinsey/1340460877 " "A well- behaved woman never made history"...Mae Westhttp://oktravels.wordpress.com http://allrecipes.com/cook/TrudyK/profile.aspx On Feb 4, 2011, at 5:57 PM, Beth Frey <bethfrey42301@...> wrote: Yes you want a doc you can trust, you need a good one who will look out for your best interest tx isn't anything to mess around with it can be down right dangerous if not monitored correctly. I understand how you feel before I started tx I looked around for a second opinion. At least that way you would feel a lot better about the outcome of tx AND the difficulty you "may" have with the side affects. Remember, when it comes to this kind of treatment, it highly affects both of you!!!Gloria My husband went to this doctor first and he ordered a biopsy. We then went back to get the results. At that appointment he recomended treatment, said Tom would feel a little sick and tired one day a week on treatment. Tom said ok to treatment. Then I started reading and got more information and got very concerned about what you go through and the out comes for his geno type. I also didn't feel that we had enough information on the treatment s possible side effects, thats why we went back. I have a hard time asking questions and am sitting here thinking maybe I could have done it differently, maybe he was upset about me asking about the new drugs. Anyway the bottom line was when he said I was asking the wrong questions and should get another opinion. It felt very weird to me.I just don't know, my husband thinks its communication because the doctor s from India{ but hes been here a long time}. Now we will have to get another opinion.Isn't that the best thing to do any way?
