Steve What helped me when I had THOSE AWFUL headaches was to take a dose of Tylenol PLUS a dose of Advil , yes, at the same time. They work differently so one does NOT really enhance the other and is completely safe to do UNLESS you have an allergy to Advil or some other problem with it such as a stomach ulcer. I was told this BY MY DOC and it really works. It is like taking a vicodin WITHOUT the narcotic. Just remember NOT to exceed the 2000 mg of Tylenol per day and do NOT exceed 1600 mg of Advil per day. It doesnt matter when or how you take them( unless you take ALL of it at once which would be a stupid thing to do) as long as you dont exceed those doses every day. It really really , did I say REALLY, helped me with the headaches. But as ALWAYS,, please check with YOUR doc about it as everyone is really different and there may be other reasons for YOU not to do it.. but my doc was a lifesaver with this

one.. Unfortunately it was not enough pain relief when my fibro kicked in and I needed to switch to Norco for shot day and a few days after shot day.. Good luck jaxstevebridgers <stevebridgers@...> wrote: Thursday is shot night for me. I'm injecting my Pegasys at 10 PM EST. bad thing is I sleep for 10 or 12 hours. I really can't make myself get up. I know it sounds crazy, but if I get up before then, I get cranky and sharp-tongued. Thanks jax, I'll try that. I have limited myself to one tylenol tablet per week unless there is excessive pain and then and only then, I'll take two. I'm trying real hard not become attached to too much pain medication. My phone started ringing this morning at 7 AM and I've been up (off and on) since then. Went shopping with the wife about 11 and then the body pain kicked in. That is what I always try to sleep through. My legs, my arms, my neck, you name it and it hurts. I think I'm gonna take your pain idea and give it a try tonight. KTF Steve B.

You are welcome Steve,, I hope it helps,, I DO realize your reasoning for not taking too much tylenol,, but what I was told is that ppl with NO liver disease can safely take up to 4 grams or 4000 mg per day so OUR top amount is no more than 2000 mg or 2 grams,, I think its MORE important to not hurt so badly because that kind of pain will do a LOT to make you start dreading your shot day,, I think its more important to have a handle on the pain and as long as you dont exceed those maximum, you should be ok! I know the aches,, I had muscles that I didnt even know I had that hurt,, and my butt muscles hurt really really bad,, Let us know how you do this time too,, please dont try to be a hero on this,, this treatment is harsh and there is NOTHING wrong with alleviating your pain! jaxSteve Bridgers <stevebridgers@...> wrote: Thanks jax, I'll try that. yes Norco is good too,, I ended up taking that when my pain became unbearable,, norco has only 325 mgs of tylenol in each tablet with 7 or 10 mg of narcotic pain killer,, its a prescription medication and its used when Vicodin is not a good choice because it has 500 mg of Tylenol in it,, DeWitt <trees911@...> wrote: Norco?Jackie on <redjaxjm > wrote: Steve What helped me when I had THOSE AWFUL headaches was to take a dose of Tylenol PLUS a dose of Advil , yes, at the same time. You are in my prayers .

I made it thought the pain pretty good. Only thing that got to me was

the muscle cramps. This is my second round with the riba/interferon.

Back in '95 when I first took it, they gave you nothing for the

nausa, pain, attitude problems, etc... I'm so glad the meds have

changed since then. Although I've had a transplant, the HepC became

active again last year. I weighed all the alternatives before I

started again. Before I almost lost my family. I was a terrible

person to live with. Mood swings were a daily occurance. And I wasn't

a very likable person. This time it's easier. But it's no picnic. I'm

thankful for people like this group. You have someone to vent to, to

cry with, and just talk to. You'll never know sometimes exacally what

that means to someone.

Teri,Thanks so much my friend. I am doing much better today. My nurse called me today in response to the urgent message I left her yesterday. She said she was so happy to call me to tell me she checked my week 4 blood test and it was zero down from 9 million. She said that is great progress and I should be fine as long as I finish the tx. So I am going to do my very best to do this.
