Guest guest
Hi Rod I bet that you are scared.....BUT.....put the fear aside for now, my friend, if you can. You have something more important to think about - healing your body. Its going to take everything you have to win this fight. There is nothing left to spare on fear. Rod, your doctors know that you have liver damage, and they will be keeping a close eye on your labs, and stuff. Trust them to do the right things for you. - Just like with the HCV meds, drink tons of water...at least a gallon per day. This will flush the meds out of your system faster, and make any liver damage less by diluting the meds. It will also keep you hydrated - the meds tend to dehydrate a person, and this puts a strain on the kidneys. You will suffer a lot more if you dont do enough water - you know what kidney problems are like. [not fun] - Try to keep food in you - good foods. Your body is going to need food to heal. DO NOT stop eating no matter what. - Try to remain positive in your thinking Rod. Tell yourself - 'I am going to win'. - There may be days that you think that your dying - this will just be the meds - you are NOT really dying. Keep that thought in your mind, and get real real mad. Fight like hell. Im not saying any of this to scare you worse Rod. Im telling you this because you need to know. I may remind you over and over again, to help you stand strong. Now I am going to tell you something that I had to be reminded of also. - The Pharm companys have to list ALL the possibilitys when it comes to side effects. This covers their ass against lawsuits. This does not mean that you will experiance any of them.....but you might. You have to remember that everybody is different, and will react differently also to the meds. AND Most meds warn of liver damage - everything passes through our livers. - Be sure that you keep your doctors in the loop about everything that you experiance. They need to know, so that they can help you better....this is VERY important. Rod, I have no personal experiance with these meds, myself. But if you can, please tell us what you go through. This info may help someone else here. We will all be standing right beside you all the way. We do care....never forget that. Stand strong my friend. You can do this. love don in ks From: Rod <rodgis44@...>Subject: [ ] New HIV Meds Date: Monday, January 31, 2011, 1:58 AM Hi all, I picked up my HIV meds today, two of which, in combo, warn of possible BAD side effects for the liver (I also have HCV). Lamivudine, Stavudine and Efavirenz. God, I'm scared! Any experiences I'd want to hear? LOL. Or things to be aware (beware) of?Thanks, and hoping you all will be better each and every day! Me too!Rod------------------------------------
