Guest guest
Have I got a story for you! Lol I went to local hosp that draws my labs, second MRI there, etc. They actually call me by my first name now. Went this morning for another MRI. Was crammed into thier " space ship " ,umm, did I say that? Aliens might hear me, huh Don? So after test was done, young eye-candy gentleman helped me up and we procceeded to Gown Closet. About halfway there, yep you quessed it! Butt against floor tiles, back of head against concrete wall. Mr Tech asked me if i was ok. Never came to help and as I was gathering up any dignity I thought I still had, he said Have a good weekend and left!! This is in a hospital, geez! I walked ( a bit more gingerly ) to lab for this weeks' lucky Dr who won the drawing. Tech takes me into drawing room. We talk a bit, she asked ( as they are sworn to do with as little compassion as possible) if I was ok? I told her I had just taken a nasty fall in radiology . She ask when? Just now? I said yes. She finished draw and wished me a good day. That's it. Is it just me? I thought that the Rolling Chair Contraption should have appeared instantaneously from first Tech's cute little butt. Granted at the time it took to stand back up, his Cutie Value was sinking quickly. And then the second tech just turned and walked away! Wonder what she would have thought if when she returned to work on Monday, there, right before her eyes, was the weak remains of Trudy- Not-okay . And before you ask, yes I could have been more vocal. I could have reeled them in with the cane I don't have. Made them see about ME before jogging off to next patient. I could have. But is just so humiliating when I fall that way... Told ya I had a story for you... Guest guest
TrudyLife today just isn't anywhere near the same as in the olden days!! You know, the RN's actually really cared about their patients not just their paycheques. These young ones today, for the most part, have never been taught anything about hard work or the integrity of a job well done. Being proud of what you do for a living still counts in my books. My step-daughter become an RN in her early 30's. She does it for the money and she loves money! I couldn't even imagine her looking after my care in a hospital. Honestly, the girl does not have a heart whatsoever. The techs whether in a hospital or any other place, don't know how to get out of the box that is their jobs. They were trained to do this and this etc.; but, nothing more. Imagine, if one of those young people put the manual down and tried to be just a caring, helpful individual. He/she would likely get shit from their bosses because in helping you, they crossed the line of somebody else's job. Big no-no for that. It is so very sad. If you had knocked yourself out in that fall, would the young fella just keep on walking?? So, if he noticed that you weren't there, he might, maybe, not sure - tell someone???Gloria Have I got a story for you! Guest guest
OMG This is like one of those stories that starts out with " HEY WATCH THIS... " and you know it's going to be trouble.Jebus Trudy... I spent YEARS working in hospitals and I can tell you that in the hospitals I worked in, there would be reports written like crazy on what happened to you. A fall in a hospital means an Incident Report. Usually filled out by Security and the employee that witnessed the fall. They usually do that to keep themselves from getting SUED. IN any case you should have been put in a wheelchair immediately after you fell, you should have been taken to the ER to be checked and they should have kept your butt in a wheelchair until you were ready to leave the premises. And then, they should have helped you to your car. OMG On Fri, Feb 25, 2011 at 11:01 PM, trudykinsey@... <trudykinsey@...> wrote: Have I got a story for you!
