Guest guest
Butch,All drugs have different absorption rates. Oxycodone takes a few hours to kick in... that's the nature of that drug. Lyrica doesn't work for everyone... actually no drug works for everyone.. there are always going to be folks that have no response to certain meds. Also as you've been taking meds for awhile your body builds up a tolerance to them. Then you need more to get the same effect. Oxycodone is a pretty strong drug... in comparison, Gabapentin is like taking a baby aspirin. And each med reacts differently when combined with another. So pretty much, we have to let our doctors be the chemists and figure out what's gonna work for us. That's why we pay them the big bucks. But you just might be getting used to some of these meds and now they don't appear to be working the same.. might need an increase in the dosage. Ask the doc. Anyone have a clue I am on Oxycodone and also wandering if this may also explain why Lyrica or Gagapenton don't work for me or has an effect on any meds we take? Guest guest
Yes, Butch, most OTC or presc. drugs for reflux will definantly affect the asborption. I was on them for a year before I learned this. Drs don't tell you. Example; I had a colonoscopy . Couldn't complete because I wasn't " cleaned out " good enough. I did notice that the laxatives weren't working well. I then did some resererce and learned this fact. No wonder that antibiotics, etc. weren't working. Now I am on two diferent stomach pills, morning & evening. BUT I always take other meds 30 -60 mins BEFORE stomach pills if you take them together , you might as well just flush down toilet cause they're not going to work for you." Guest guest
Yea, I was seeing that tonight as well! Couldn't help but think that perhaps what happened to me last weekend, might have been some kind of seizure. I thought that Lyrica was really bad for the liver; but, I couldn't find any reference to it when I was looking. Guess I was thinking of the pills that clean the arteries. That is really dangerous on a liver.Gloria Just went on the Lyrica website.... Didn't know that Lyrica is actually a medication for Epilepsy... hmmm..Lyrica is taken 3 times a day Trudy...
