God or your higher power or both works in wonderful ways we we let him or her.lol love Cinder From: Gloria <gadamscan@...>Subject: [ ] Baby Brother"Hep C Web Warriors" < >Date: Saturday, February 5, 2011, 11:27 PM Hi GuysWell, I'm back from the overwhelming tribute that was paid to my baby brother!! As his older sister, I had no idea whatsoever that he had touched so many people's life, during his journey in this life. We know that there was over 600 people at the Celebration of his Life.So many pictures that bring back memories and tears! There was a picture of him holding each of his girls, right after they had been born. There were friends of his there, that went back to even his primary school!! It seems that just about anyone that he had contact with, was there.Of course, a good number of our family members were there and then after ward, some of us cousins got together and traded memories of Lou and each other. Actually, we even talked about the other cousins that have already passed away as well. Everyone of my parents grandchildren were there. Isn't it sad to think, that it's for such sad reasons that we've got together again?? Therefore, we talked about having a family reunion, so hopefully it doesn't get lost in the business of our lives. Unfortunately, most of them would look to me to plan the reunion and my health is just not up to that. But, if the eldest of each family planned their parts, we could pull it off. There was even a cousin there from my father's family, that I haven't seen for over 40 years!! Geez, it was funny because I always thought he was taller than he is, when we were teenagers. Then, one of the school teachers from when I was in primary school!!! My Mom pulls me over and asks if I know this man? Ya sure, I remember a man that taught in the school I went to, back THAT many years. LOL He wasn't even a teacher of mine; but, far more he was a friend of my Mothers' from when both of them were in High School up here. LOLSo, as soon as I catch up on my sleep, I'll be back in a much better head space I hope!Luv Gloria
Guest guest
I've used that scare tactic in my own family; but, I think it backfired to some extent and yet was healthy in another way.The backfire was because my baby brother or his girls, didn't want to tell our Mother/Grandmother about their own health; because I am also sick!! BS - the best way to get me outta my own way, is give me something else to focus on. Several people asked me about my own health at this Celebration of Life and I hopefully, kindly just blew it off. We were not there about me!!!!The healthy part is that my son is taking a more active interest in Mom's health. Especially since he just lost the only father he ever really knew and now his 1st/2nd best uncle. Luv Gloria Wow Gloria. I am glad you had a ok time at your brothers wake..
