Don,Thank you for that.  You just explained that in a way that I could understand and nobody has been able to do that before!  We need fresh blood in Washington DC.  I think they should all get the ax!  You know they are living well.

Hi everybody

I wanna jump in here with a little bit of history, showing how America got to where it is today.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It used to be that America could produce anything that it needed to produce.

This is what we could do, and did, during World War 2.

America could be completely cut off from the rest of the world, and still survive.

We had our own natural resources, and factorys, and work force.

We could even help our Allies fight, and survive.

Then someone in the Govt got the bright idea that instead of being in competition with the rest of the world, [and maybe having a nuke war as the result], that America could make all countrys INTER-DEPENDENT on one another.

This was called the - New World Order.

It was thought that if every country depended on labor, manufacturing, natural resources, and money from every other country, it would be impossible to ever have a World War again.

This is how Reagan and his buddies figured on ending the Cold War, and avoiding Mad [mutual assured destruction]......or World War 3.

It was a good idea, because many of us 'older' folks remember the Nuke War Cloud hanging over our heads as we grew up.

But no one gave it much thought about what comes after destroying the Nuke threat, and ending the Cold War.

Thus NAFTA and CAFTA were born [among many other Trade Agreements], and the USA began closing factorys, and outsourcing jobs.

Places like Detroit Michigan's manufacturing economies collasped, and millions of Americans lost their jobs.

America has become dependent on just about everything from other countrys today.

Before all these Trade Agreements, America's economy was mostly INTERNAL.

People worked, payed in taxes, and the Govt put most of that money back into the country.

Now however, most of that money is being spent overseas to buy the goods and services that we all enjoy to keep our high standard of living.

Thus was born the Federal Deficit and National Debt.

A 'self imposed' reccession.

America buys all these goods and services from other countrys, and borrows part of the money needed from even more countrys to keep the products comming in.

At the same time, less and less people have jobs that pay well, thus less tax money goes into the the Federal Govt.

Yes, we have stifled the Cold War, and raised the standard of living worldwide, but America has lost our main asset in doing so.

Our ability to compete with the rest of the world, and our independence.

Those who had MILLIONS of dollars, suddenly had BILLIONS of dollars by investing overseas.

The working middle class began to disappear, and with it came the loss of educating our children.

So today we all want that same high standard of living, but less tax money is flowing into the Govt.

We just keep going downhill - slowly but surely.

- One by one people get into debt, and cannot get out.

- One by one, familys cannot pay for their children to go to college, so the education needed to compete is dropping.

And even if the kids do graduate from college - there are no factorys or jobs available.

- AND - one by one people are finding themselves on the street with little or nothing, and no way to pull themselves back out of that hole because the resources are not there anymore.

They are in China, or Japan, or Germany.

Now this is just don's simplified description of what I have seen happen in my lifetime, of the BIG PICTURE.

Ans all the games that the Govt is playing now to try to play catch-up, are not going to work.

On one hand the Govt is trying to sustain the trade agreements, and the growth of the rest of the world.

On the other hand the Govt is trying to sustain people and companys here at home [welfare, unemployment insurance, and bailouts].

And not enought money is comming in, except to borrow from other countrys, so the debt cieling keeps going up, as does the interest on that money.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This all involves me personally.

I am disabled - I cannot hold down a job anymore.

I live on SSI, food stamps, and Medicaid.

Without this help, I am back on the street.

And the Govt is talking about cutting back on all the 'ENTITLEMENTS' - programs such as Social Security, Medicaid/Medicare, food stamps, and so forth because it cannot afford to give money to the poor, elderly, and needy anymore.

This includes children, college age people, the sick/disabled, Military Vets, and old folks.

I spent 21 years living on the streets, disabled by an act of God.

Now I am even older, sicker, and I wont be able to survive living like that again.

So if the Govt targets me - Im screwed.....BIG TIME.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is only one answer to America surviving - end the International Trade Agreements, and rebuild America's infrastructure and competiveness.

Its a case of US or THEM - or the hard, painful truth.

Now that also comes down to a personal level for each of us.

When YOU see someone living on the street, what do you think of, right off the bat?

I will bet you that the first thing that you think of, is - 'its me, or them'.

Betty, I compliment you for your act of kindness, giving that homeless person your wonderful Ouilt, and possibly feeding them a meal.

I want you to know that you will be rewarded 100 times over for that simple act of kindness.

Its called KARMA.

It is what makes this group, a GREAT group, also.

We all give what we can to help each other thru our Hepatitis nightmare.

If there is one thing I have learned in my lifetime - it is to not be afraid to be kind and show love to another.

Our personal loss by doing this is nothing compared to the gift that we give.

Ok I just need to vent, WTF is wron with this world???!!??. I not a sleeper so I get up @ all hrs, just now close to 12pm I wake up with this overwhelming desire to sit on the front porch, why idk i never do, anyways, I go outside, Its prob about 35 degrees out= COLD and there is a man on the neighbors porch, huddled up trying to keep warm. Well needless to say I no longer wanted to sit out front. Not because of fear of him, but how could I just sit there? So I go in. I cant go back to sleep now thinking of the endless amt of homeless people me and my daughter used to feed when I had a job (LOL) So " but for the grace of God,  There go I. " Ok Bottom line is now I need to crank up the heat because I gave him my QUILT and pillow off of my bed. Some would say Im crazy. Nah, well maybe a little. But i have heat and I know he is now warm and cozy at least for the night. I wake early, so if he is there in the am he will get breakfast

too. I believe every act of kindness goes a long way.  I am one unemployment check away from being him. This is why I hate people with money who wont help others. ok done venting, gotta find another blankie for me. Betty

DonI'm behind you 100% with this picture; except where you said about the US raising the standard of living worldwide. Nope!! Not at all! But, that's another discussion.Hate to tell you folks; but, lots of Canadians can see that if China were to call in their loan, the good old USA would not exist. Frightening!!By the way, probably just about the most hated Prime Minister of Canada, was the one that signed our oil, water and everything else over to that "New World Order".Finally, if you think it's scary now - what's going to happen when all of us boomers hit the retirement age. The largest population of babies born worldwide, was the boomers. But, it was followed by the smallest population of

babies. Whose going to pay into the pension funds etc.??
