Guest guest
Geez - you are doing a whole lot better than I am with the prescriptions. I actually swallow at least 240 pills per month. However, some of that is just to keep me on balance daily. Butch,When I started treatment I was given Vicodin for pain. Part of my treatment plan. I went from taking one 5mg pill every 6 hours to taking 6 of those suckers at a time by the time treatment was over. I took those things like SKITTLES! I even asked the pharmacist if they could color them for me and put a candy coating on them! It was nothing for me to go thru 100 pills in a week. NOTHING. When treatment was over, they stopped the Vicodin and put me on Norco... same thing just less Tylenol in it. Most of my pain was leaving so I didn't take as much. Then I went several years without taking any. I have a prescription for Norco now... I go thru about 28 pills every 4 to 6 months. Not bad huh? But they have had to increase my dosage from 5 mg to 7.5 mg. We tend to build a huge tolerance to pain meds... it sucks but it happens. I try anything to avoid taking pain pills now. I suffer more than I should but I don't want to be dependent on them. That's just me. I have been building up a huge tolerance, My Doctor up my pain meds to 5 a day but trying my best not to take that much. That is why I am trying to find a way to make them work better so I don't have to take more. I know it's a futile battle but gotta at least try. Thanks again for responding and hope you have a fantastic week. Butch Butch, All drugs have different absorption rates. Oxycodone takes a few hours to kick in... that's the nature of that drug. Lyrica doesn't work for everyone... actually no drug works for everyone.. there are always going to be folks that have no response to certain meds. Also as you've been taking meds for awhile your body builds up a tolerance to them. Then you need more to get the same effect.
