Guest guest
Hello everybody, all my friends call me Luchi,so that'll be a good start. I'm a 51 year old (Wow) male who lives in London, but I've been around.;-) I'm a non responder of a tx that was some 10 years ago. I recon I've had the 'bug' for over 30 years and can feel its progress within me..( I've been involved in support groups and also as a volunteer worker at a hep c resource center for several years. I then kinda dropped of the Radar for a while. After my failed tx,I discovered and learnt things to help me manage my disease as best as possible and to give me some quality of life. I practice yoga daily,on and off the mat and get regular acupuncture and TCM from the guy who treats Matt Dolan. I have been training in micro systems acupuncture myself. I pay strict attention to what I put in/on my body and through positive thought try to hang on. Occasionally I find myself slipping down the walls though, so that brings me to raising my head above the parapets and looking to again touch base with like minded people on the same 'trip'. Basically I'm here for mutual support. Love and Light Luchi p.s.thanks for the invite to post Don.

Guest guest
LuchiWelcome aboard!!Actually, I think we were all put aboard this boat and didn't have a clue where it was going. It's also taking time for all of us to get to know one another. I live in Canada and I think I'm the only aboard this ship that does. I'm away out on the west coast about as far as it gets; because, I live on the island off the coast from Vancouver.I am a @yr old female! I believe that I picked up the dragon in 1986. But, do any of us know for sure where we got it??? Yes, there were folks here in Canada that could prove where their infection came from and so, won their class action suit. Then, there are so few others that know. When I was first diagnosed, the Dr. went into the spiel about any drug use, no matter how far back. I call bullshit right away!! Yup, he sat back then and actually made eye contact. As I told him, if it was true that I contracted the dragon back in my early 20's from my couple of exploratory attempts of IV Drugs, then I should not be sitting here, because I would be dead!!By the time I was 23/24, I was well on my way into alcoholism. I partied a little hearty until my mid-30's before I quit and got a program. At the time that I was talking with this Dr. I had been sober 15 years. He had to agree with my take on it and that it made more sense that I did pick it up from a piercing gun in 86.Well, I've been through 2 treatments myself. The first was back in 2004/2005 and I was a non-responder at the end!!! My concern was that my liver was already at Stage 3 before I even found out I was infected. So, the next 3-1/2 yrs were difficult - wondering if my liver was going to hold out for the new treatment we were hearing about. Then an absolutely amazing thing happened!! I was ask to participate in a clinical trial out of Vancouver, for people like myself and probably you. So, I've already done the 48 weeks on the new tx, that is due out in the spring. As a matter of fact, I finished that clinical in Jan 2010 - geez a whole year ago. Also, happily I can tell you that I no longer have Hep C. So, again - welcome aboard. Ask anything that you'd like although I have a hunch that you actually know a great deal already.Gloria Welcome glad you coming on board. The more the merrier. Looking forward to your feedback!! Again welcome glad your here.
