Guest guest
Hiya Luchi, Im glad that you found us, altho I wish no one had the 'need' to do so. Im sorry that you were a non-responder to TX. There is pretty good news in the pipeline tho - Telaprevir [Protease Viral Inhibitor], from Vertex. Here in the USA, they are talking about it being approved and ready for use by June. It will be used with the Interferon and Riba to make a 3D combo, attacking the HCV 3 ways, instead of 2. This is good news for genotype 1's and non-responders - possibly doubling our SVR rate. There is also talk about possibly cutting TX time in half - 24 weeks. Another neat thing is the expansion of the geno testing for indicators about who will respond and who wont, and who will become anemic. Medical Science is doing some really neat stuff in the past 2 years. And then, there is the stand alone - non-interferon - treatments now in clinical trials. Yayyyyyy, I hope this one happens really fast. Anyways, welcome. Talk with us. love don in ks From: luchiloveyogi <chriss_infinity@...>Subject: [ ] Jumping aboard your ship from across the pond Date: Saturday, January 29, 2011, 8:49 AM Hello everybody, all my friends call me Luchi,so that'll be a good start.I'm a 51 year old (Wow) male who lives in London, but I've been around.;-)I'm a non responder of a tx that was some 10 years ago. I recon I've had the 'bug' for over 30 years and can feel its progress within me..(I've been involved in support groups and also as a volunteer worker at a hep c resource center for several years.I then kinda dropped of the Radar for a while. After my failed tx,I discovered and learnt things to help me manage my disease as best as possible and to give me some quality of life.I practice yoga daily,on and off the mat and get regular acupuncture and TCM from the guy who treats Matt Dolan. I have been training in micro systems acupuncture myself.I pay strict attention to what I put in/on my body and through positive thought try to hang on.Occasionally I find myself slipping down the walls though,so that brings me to raising my head above the parapets and looking to again touch base with like minded people on the same 'trip'.Basically I'm here for mutual support.Love and LightLuchip.s.thanks for the invite to post Don.------------------------------------
