Hi Barb, I was told to click the morphine button twice to get the dosage. Do

hot hesitate to use it. This is not the time to be a martyr. I slept most of

the time. I did have my Ipod with me, and I think I used it. I may also have

had a trashy novel, but I honestly don't remember. I do remember I had a

terrific view if the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building.

Barb,

I remember sleeping a lot. If you have any pain, don't hesitate to push

the morphine button. It is pre set, so you cannot overdose. You don't have

to call a nurse for morphine, you have the ability to dose yourself. I

remember reading magazines and watching TV a lot.

Barb, I may be a rarity here, but day two was fine for me. I was up walking

around my hospital room unaided on day two. And it just got easier with

each passing day. The worse day was the day before the op! But I guess I am

one of the lucky ones.

Hi , I think I hallucinated, but I'm not sure. I'm really not sure I car

at this point. It was important to be out cold the first day, that's all I

feel. The second day is another story. 8 months on, I'm playing tennis

tomorrow morning, as I have been for three months.

Best of luck!

You can easily hallucinate from Demerol, but I don't think from Morphine.

I have known of people who took morphine having hallucinations. I would suspect

more then one of those kind of drugs can cause it.  Each of us can respond

differently to the same meds.

I was given delaudid for pain in the hospital. I lost a day & a half.

Apparently I was getting out of bed by myself to use the potty chair. I tore

out of my IV's. And I " woke up " thinking I was at home & decided not to go

through with the surgery. Then I was nauseous and throwing up for another 24

hours. Needless to say, I'll be looking into other forms of pain relief for my

next TKR!

WOW that doesn't sound good at all.  I know in the hospital, I woke up one

morning and I thought they had moved me to another room and it seemed like

everyone was moving really fast, finally a nurse or somone came into my room and

I told them to stop right there and tell me, if I had been moved to another room

and she assured me that no I had not been moved.  I bet she thought I was

Ok I am not taking the AM dose of Elavil for this whole week . If it is causing

all of this I wonder how llong it will take to get out of my system? My hands

are shaking so bad I can't type on here , takes a long time. I broke two cigs

just taking out of pack! Glad the outdoor tidying is not anything " small " where

inches matter! Quess I will postpone sewing on my current quilt projecft.

Teri could you also research Triazolam . .25 m? You remember how freaked out I

was about sleep walking? I switched from Tramadol to this two weeks before I

started Elavil. ( I'm just trying anything to make this not be the Elavil. I

would rather Fall, shake, jerk all than give ip my Elavil. I know that sounds

like emotional addiction. But I really hate being in a constant state of Road

Rage and depresion. Life is calmer, and productive when all my energy isn't

TrudyI would literally have a break down if my Dr. removed me from the Wellbutrin. I usually don't remember to take the Celexa; but, the Wellbutrin - let's just say, there are about 8 hours in a day that I'll be pretty mellow. However, let someone get on the bad side of me late in the afternoon and it's a whole different story. Right now I'm sooo angry at two of my brothers, that if one of them came into my view - they'd better be running (and neither one of them can hardly walk). It's another whole reason why I love my current style of living. I only started on the anti-d's in between the tx's. However, they were raised and then the Wellbutrin was added

for the last 3 mos of the clinical. For the last 20 odd years, I was usually a fairly happy person!! Sure, the last tx made me a physco bitch; but, it was supposed to be short term. Well, sooo much has happened in my life in the last year that I would go crazy without my anti-d.I was crying so hard in the Dr's office a little after we got the news that my baby brother was terminal. Do you know, she even gave me a script for 5 or 6 valium. Haven't had valium since the 70's when it seemed that it was the Drs favourite prescription.Luv Gloria

Not for me, is it the one for nights. You may be thinking of trazadone. Now the trazadone was useless for me. That's the one that I told the Dr., at that time, I was not a depressed person, so I didn't need something for a depression and for sleep as well. That Dr. laughed and prescribed a sleeping pill.
