Guest guest
Hi Gloria Yeah he hired a helicopter to lift out the deadfall trees [which were huge]. Then he trucked and railroaded them down to Arkansas. Each tree was maybe 3-4 foot in diameter and 50-100 feet long. Each tree cost a fortune. I suspect that for the cost of maybe 5 trees, I could have bought myself a real nice small home. People with lots of money dont seem to have a lot of sence....seems to me. His name is Jim Fyhrie, one of the musicians from the 60-70's who made it bigtime. http://search./search?ei=utf-8 & fr=slv8-tyc7 & p=jim%20fyhrie & type= love don in ks From: Gloria <gadamscan@...>Subject: [ ] Log Cabin Date: Saturday, January 29, 2011, 10:50 PM DonYes, I so relate to a million dollar log cabin. Plus, especially if he was trying to pick deadfall trees. One time when hubby and I went out to Calgary, Alberta, his brother wanted to show us a log house he was working on. So, he gave us the tour and when we got upstairs, I had to go and look twice, Then I asked him what kind of idiot would build such a beautiful home and the master bedroom overlooked the prairie. On the other side was a gorgeous view of the Rocky Mountains. To me that was just wrong!! Hi Donna Good ideas are far and few between. If I were me.......errrr.......[that sounds funny]......anyways, thats what I would do. I would have a 2 room house - a BIG kitchen and a bathroom, all on one level. I mean, I dont know about at your house, but everyone I know ends up in the kitchen hanging out anyways. A livingroom is just a dirt collector, and a bedroom Ive never really had. In the house I live in now, I sleep in one corner of the livingroom with my computer. The other 3 corners are - TV/stereo, piano/amps, and a couple of easy chairs for visitors. I have a nice sized kitchen, a VERY tiny bathroom, and the bedroom is really just a large closet that I store my junk in. Throw in my front porch, and Im set. Down in Arkansas, where I am from, all my friends have built their homes with one big room. Off of that is a bathroom. We call that kind of construction - 'Hillbilly Heaven'. LOL :-) I have a millionare friend who moved there from California, and he built his house out by the lake. Its 3 floors tall. Its real nice, but you have to climb 2 sets of stairs to get to the bedrooms. Its a giant log cabin, made with deadfall trees from Canada, at a cost of one million dollars. Who ever heard of such a thing - a million dollar log cabin? His livingroom is big enough to put 4 of my houses in, and the kitchen holds a 12 foot table its so big. Shucks, 50 people could live there and never crowd each other. I wonder what him and his wife are going to do when they get old? They are almost 70 now. dang love don in ks --- H
