For some reason I am not getting all of the posts from the list and it is irritating me!!!! I don't know what is happening

Does anybody have any clue as to why this is happening?

######### I see your from AOL too... Mine has been doing that also. Plus if I do get them it's a day late. Also you just might have them, only all mixed up!! I'll be reading the answer before I even read the question. Do not know why! I go to the archives to catch up on what I've missed.

From a new member myself to all the other new members, WELCOME.

This group is great, I came on asking several questions concerning my

littlest Ethan, and the response I got was terrific.

There are so many members in this group that no matter what the question or

problem someone will be able to help.

Thank you everyone for being so wonderful.

Hello to all CNY soapers! I don't actually live in CNY anymore but I just

had to join. My family is still there, my parents in Rome, my sister near

Albany and my brother/SIL in Ithaca. I'm married to a military man so I

haven't lived in NY for about 11 years. I'm in North Dakota. I get SO

homesick! I want to move back home. Anyway, I hope you don't mind me

hanging around for a while. Maybe one day I can be an " official " CNY

soaper! (who wishes she could join the fun in Canandaigua :(

We've had some new members join in the past few days. Please pull out the

soap box and introduce yourselves. We're a friendly, relaxed group. Please

feel free to talk about anything you'd like to here.

Hi ,

you are most welcome to the group! We have several members that aren't in NY

and I think I can speak for all, (we are a very friendly group), WELCOME!

Usually, someone is around and any questions you might have are answered

pretty quickly. I feel most at home within this list and I have been on many

within the last 2-3 years.

Hi to new members here in our little group. My name is and

I live outside Utica, NY in a small town called Ilion. If any of your

husbands hunt, they have most likely heard of or owned a Remington

rifle or shotgun. They are made right here in Ilion. That's the only

think we're known for here.

Anyway, I only do M & P soaping currently. Too chicken to try the

other soaping. But I really enjoy what I'm doing and the artistic

part of me is finally being put to use. We're glad to have you

join us here so don't take a back seat. Just speak right up and it

does not have to be about soaping. If you have a bad day or something

just complain to us.....we'll listen. Right girls??

Hi Kathy: Thanks for the welcome. Believe it or not, I've never been to

Niagara Falls! I left home when I was 18, searching for a " real " life!

I've been homesick ever since! One day, I plan on returning to my home

state, settling down & being closer to my family.

, I had the same condition, but did not have

surgery until I was 59. By then, my organs were

affected too. I had A/P T2-L5. I am doing ok. It

is scary, but I am very glad I had the surgery. At

his young age, his recovery will be so much better

than mine. Best wishes to both of you.

,

There is a mailing list that is for parents of children with

scoliosis. The address is:

http://www.ai.mit.edu/extra/scoliosis//scoliosis.html#subscription

If you read down through the info. you'll find the parents group I'm

talking about.

The parents who subscribe to this list might be very helpful to you.

I subscribe to the digest version and have read thro some of the

parents e-mails, so I know there are parents out there facing the

same issues you and your son are.

My heart goes out to you having to deal with all of this. Good Luck

and take care.

Hi ,

My son was born with severe congenital scoliosis. I would strongly suggest

getting another opinion before proceding with fusion surgery. If they only

do a posterior fusion (with rod placement) this will not address his chest

capacity issues. Hopefully you will find a doctor that understands that the

chest compromise is more important than straightening the spine, at this

point. With kyposcoliosis, it's even more important to find a doctor that

you have 100% confidence in. Ask your ortho if they have heard of the

Titanium Rib Project (Dr. in San , TX is the lead

investigator). The TRP treats children just like your son - children with

lung function compromise. Pulminary function is their #1 goal, and second

to that is stabilization of the spine. My son had his TRP implant surgery

in August 2001 at age 6. His right lung increased in size and capacity by

more than 40%. Then, in March 2002, his first expansion surgery, they

improved the lung size/chest capacity another 15%. Very significant,

especially since we had no idea his lung function was so compromised.

Immediately following his surgery in August, the thoracic surgeon told us

that " he would have eventually lost all use of his right lung, had he not

had this surgery " . Pretty overwhelming thoughts for us.

Feel free to write me and I'd be happy to share more of our experiences with

you. There are certain criteria that a child must meet to qualify for this

procedure, and there are other issues involved. Also, there are other

procedures that help, but haven't had as dramatic improvements. Avoiding

fusion at this young age is the goal. Once you fuse the spine, it can't be

undone. My son had a/p fusion at 11 months old and that has complicated his

TRP treatment. Good luck and I wish you the best.

Actually, I think you probably want the Scoliosis Child list, as that

list is for caretakers of very young children with scoliosis. (The

Parent list is for parents of anyone with scoliosis.) To subscribe to

that list, send an email to:

scoliosis-child-request@...

with only the word SUBSCRIBE in the body of the message. If you're

successful, you'll receive an automatic message telling you how to post

messages to the list.

Hi and welcome to the group.

What area of pharmacy are you working in? Jeanetta has helped

hundreds of techs study for and pass the PTCB exam. There is a wealth

of information in the tutorials located under the 'files' option to

the left of your screen. As the Nov exam date moves closer, you will

notice a dramatic increase in activity on this message board. Reading

the posts/questions of others preparing for the exam would be time

well spent. If you have not already done so, I suggest you take the

practice exam on the PTCB website. This will help you to identify and

work on your weak areas. There is also a free calculations practice

test at the TechLectures website. You can jump to both sites from our

links section.

Sincerely,

Yeah--I know what you mean--haha If there is anything you don't understand

I'm quite certain Jeanetta or someone else on this site could help you out.

Keep studying and stop in every once in a while and let us know how you are
