Hi Everyone

I may need to appologise to some folks in the group for my post last Thursday about Religious and Political discussions within this group.

I may have been unclear, deluded, or misunderstood in what I was trying to say.

I thought that I was making my point correctly, to try to help protect the group, as that is one of my responcibilitys as a moderator.

Usually unless a group is a Political or Religious group, most other groups [like ours] tend to shy away from such discussions, because very often these two topics are controversial, and some people become offended.

Remember our group has members from every walk of life and culture, worldwide.

I am very aware that our personal Spitituality might also be a major factor in our healing, right up there with any other tool to heal - be it holistic, alternative or conventional medicine, diet, lifestyle, or thinking.

I am also very aware that sometimes political decisions, do in fact, affect our psychological or physical health.

These two topics are NOT universally banned from this group [per se], nor any other topic that may affect us mentally or physically in our path to recovery.

I have gone to great lengths to encourage everyone to voice what they needed to, to help them achieve their goal to heal.

After much private discussion with other members this past week, and much personal introspection about these topics, I have concluded two things.

1 - Perhaps as adults.......we can try to discuss everything in this group freely, and we can all make allowances for each others viewpoints, without taking offence or arguing.

2 - Perhaps I personally, am trying to be too protective of the group, thus possibly causing group disharmony myself, even with my good intentions.

Folks, I have never claimed to be a rocket scientist, that knows everything.

Overseeing a group is sometimes rough, as there are many grey areas, and distasteful dutys.

I freely and honestly admit - 'I do make mistakes, and I can be wrong'.

My intent in running this group is pure, and from my heart - 'to see that this group survives to help people heal [like me], and to protect everyone as much as possible from ugliness'.

We all have enough stresses in our own lives, and should not come here and be subjected to more.

We all need a SAFE HAVEN, of hope, support, friendship, and information, and that is what I wish this group could be for each of us.

So please feel free to discuss whatever you need to discuss in this group, keeping in mind that some folks might not agree with your viewpoints.

Please be aware of the feelings of others when you speak, and I will try to do the same.

- This is NOT a lience for any of us to be offensive, abusive, or disrespectful of others, or to fight 'on forum'.

- This is also NOT a lience to force others to adhere to our own personal beliefs.

If you wish to do these two things, please do it in private.

I hope that I have said all this correctly, and that each of you can understand what I am trying to say.

Again, I appologise for any problems that I may have personally caused any of you.

That was not my intent.
