Hi

There are several suppliments, I feel, that people with liver disease should take.

Those of us who have HCV should definately be taking -

- a one-a-day daily vitamin [NO IRON - mens formula]

general health

- Alpha Lipoic Acid [ALA]

essential for aerobic life

- Glutathione

major endogenous antioxidant produced by the cells, participating directly in the neutralization of free radicals and reactive oxygen compounds, as well as maintaining exogenous antioxidants such as vitamins C and E in their reduced (active) forms

- Omega-3 [fish oil]

essential to normal growth and health

- Selenium

trace element nutrient which functions as cofactor for reduction of antioxidant enzymes such as glutathione peroxidases

- Milk Thistle

slows down HCV reproduction, and has anti-cancer effects

All vitamins have their health benefits.

NOTE: Suppliments should not be taken expecting them to CURE a health issue.

Their main purpose is to boost the bodys general health, so that the body itself, can fight.

Be sure to let your doctor know everything that you take.

Hey Don, is their a list of all vitamins for HCV? I am thinking about starting vitamins. Is a multi vitamin good? I know to stay away from iron pills.

thanks
