I would like to add "what is Fibro" I know I am feeling a little better sense explatation on June 30. Some of the aches that traveled through my muscles have subsided a bit. With the tropical storm to the South of SAn Diego it is humid and my "ashmatic symptoms" are acting up a bit. Does anyone know if humidity effects this? Thank You... S

Hi Kim,

It is good that you are researching this and it is interesting what

your finding out isn't it? I used to go on allot of different boards

too when I was ill and still had my implants, allot of the reasons I

was doing this was to see if maybe I was just getting lupus or

whatever and that maybe I needed to learn to accpet my illness and I

was trying to convince myself that it was not my implants. I really

wanted to keep the implants at that point. Anyhow, I spoke to allot

of women with fibro, lupus, etc that all had implants as well. I

could not believe how many of them there were too! Just like you I

found it amazing. BUt what was more amazing was that when I asked if

they thought the implants had anything to do with their illnesses

most of them vehemently denied this. They were pretty dead set

against even considering it. IN fact most of them were really sick

but felt that they would rather keep the implants and be sick than

be flat! I hung out on one of these groups for awhile and was almost

going to just become one of them and keep the implants and try to

accept being ill, but eventually I decided that I was going to just

take the chance and get them out because if I kept them I would

always wonder what if I could have gotten better. Anyhow I am glad I

made the choice I did.

As far as Fibromyalgia, no I do not believe it will kill you. I mean

I am not sure what happens after many many years of having this

condition, but it is not fatal. Many of the other diseases that we

are talking about though can be fatal esp if not treated. I know that

some things like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and schleroderma can be

very serious and deadly. I really think it is sad that these women

out there value their fake breasts more than health and their lives.

It is sad that society has placed women in this position that we feel

the size of our breasts is so important. I wish there was some way of

changing the perspective but I just don't see it happening any time

soon. If you just turn on your TV set it screams out at you that big

breasts on thin women is very much what we are supposed to look like.

In reality very very few women fit that description, unless they are

augmented.

ANyhow Kim I hope that you can find a way to come to terms with your

implants and getting them out and I really hope that your eye

problems will imporve soon

Hugs

Yes I would think that humidity could make the fibro symptoms worse.

Fibromyalgia is basically just a fnacy term for muscle pain. It is

said that people with fibro do not get in the right stage of sleep

where your body repairs the tears in the muscle that you get with

everyday use. When the muscle never really gets rested or repaired

you get terrible pain. This usually creates a cycle of not getting

enough activity due to pain and then the cycle continues, less

activity, less sleep, more faitgue and more pain. I think that the

term Fibro is being over used these days and that it is an easy cop

out for some Dr's to just label someone with this term even though

they may not have it. IN order to be diangosed with it you have to

have a cerain number of trigger points and I cannot remember how many

of them there are anymore.Trigger points are actual spots on the body

that when pressed on create severe pain. Anyhow, along with the pain

sufferers usually copmplain of fatigue, restlessness, irritable

bowel, low grade fevers, hot or cold flashes, dizziness or brain fog,

cognitive disfunction, soar throats and sinus problems, sleeplessness

weight gain and depression and probably a ton of other stuff I am

leaving out. Anyhow that is about what I know of fibro. I know that I

had allot of the symptoms, but I never really had the trigger points.

Hope this helps.

Hi ....Thank you for clearing this up. I never asked my doctor about Fibro, but in describing the symptoms I seem to have muscle pain when I exercise, not when I walk. Unless I have been sick with a cold or up in elevations. Then it comes on really hard. I am restless by nature, had night sweats, anxiety, irritable bowel.

Now since explant my symptoms have subsided a bit....hopefully they will go away all together... Sc

You may or may not have Fibro, I got to the point where I decided

that it was not so important anymore to have a name to put with my

condition, as long as I was getting better, I just decided not to

foucs on it because what I really believe I had and you also, is some

kind of toxic effects from the implants. NOT a true disease or

condition at all, but more of a temporary condition from being

exposed to the toxins. I think that you will find that these things

will go away in time, come and come but mostly go! I know that I had

all the symptoms and the only thing now, almost three years later is

the heel problem. That is something that I am able to handle though

it sucks. Part of me wonders if it is just a coincidence and not

related to implants, however I never had a single moment of heel pain

in my life till 3 months after getting implants, just so coincidental

ya know! ARG.

Hang in there and keep on moving, I found the more I did the better I

got!
