Guest guest
Hi Cynde The power of our minds is truely amazing, and we have very little idea how powerful our thoughts can actually be. We people must be very careful in 'picturing' something in relationship to ourselves. I know from experiance that I can picture myself sick, and I can actually make myself have symptoms. The opposite is also true - 'wellness'....or happy, sad, depressed, and so forth. Now Im not saying that you dont know your own body much better than I ever could. It is also impossible for anyone to DX you over the Internet, and because I am not a MD. Im just a hippy musician. What Im refering to is your earlier statement about possibly having Ascites and PH, and how you havent been DX'd with these things yet, but - that you think that you are headed in that direction. Maybe so, but maybe not too. About a year ago I went to my doctor because my gut was very swollen, to the point I could not eat or drink, and I was sick, and it was painful. I had read all the stuff about Ascites, and I was freaking out that this is what I had. I too, have had friends with Ascites, and know a bit about this condition. My doc ran various labs, and did imaging on me, and told me that it was NOT Ascites, and go home, Im ok. Well, I was sorta pissed because I was in discomfort. I said - ' but doc, anyone can see with their eyes that I am majorly bloated'!!! He responded with - 'dont think yourself sick, or you will just make yourself miserable'. This is what I say to you too, Cynde. It sound to me like pretty good advice. Now, I am not discounting your discomfort, symptoms, or your thoughts, because obviously something is wrong, or you wouldnt have brought it up. What I am trying to do is get you to think positively first, in relation to your problem, so that you wont be so miserable or frightened. Then go to your doctor, and get checked out. If your tests come up normal, start looking in other directions for the cause. This is what I did after I came home from my doctor visit [very frustrated]. I discovered, by experimenting on myself, that eating breadstuffs caused my gut to swell up and hurt. A little bit of research, and now I pretty well know that I am 'Gluton Intolerant'. I havent been DX'd with this problem yet, but 2+2=4. A persons body does speak to them. I cut refined grains from my diet, and I am having a lot less bloating and suffering. Cynde, maybe your HCV is getting worse. In my opinion, this is normal to anyone with HCV - IE: it may get worse over time - MAYBE. I stress the MAYBE, because nothing is set in stone. Many people just live with their HCV. Then too, maybe your symptoms have another cause, like my bloating did. And maybe, if you take better care of yourself [sups, diet, lifestyle, whatever], you can live the rest of your life WITH the HCV, and not get much worse. Perhaps anything is possible....we dont really know. Just because one of your friends got sick fast, does not mean that you will also. Each of us is different, and our HCV is going to possibly take a different path. Cynde, when I was DX'd with HCV - I was sure that I was dying, just any time now. Well......Im still here, and not much worse off. And......I plan to be here for a lot longer too, God willing, now that I have changed my focus. Cynde, I am just throwing some ideas at you. I might be right or I might be wrong, or I might just have too much hair. LOL :-) I pray that your not going into some sort of critical health mode. That would be a real drag. I am blasting you with everything good. love don in ks From: Cynde Moya <cyndemoya@...>Subject: Re: [ ] my thoughts - Cynde Date: Tuesday, February 15, 2011, 1:35 PM Hi Don I've given this reply some thought, as many of your words and advice are quite good. As for me, though, I am VERY conscious of what the gurgling in my guts are. I can tell which movement it is. About 4 hours after eating, the stomach peristaltis starts moving things into the small intestine. Some time later, the small intestine moves things along; that's a tickly kind of wiggly motion, and can come and go for an hour at least. Then the stuff is all moved into the large intestine; it goes up, transverse, and finally packs down in the exit staging area. I can tell which of these is happening. It's not just random gurgling to me. So when something else is happening -- something that feels like liquid being forced through a clogged hose, in a location and direction not involved with the other familiar movements, well, I do start to think that it has something to do with my liver. Especially when my liver beats with exhaustion after this process. So, I don't think I'm talking myself into illness I don't have. I think that this darn thing is getting worse. 8) Cynde [ ] my thoughts - Cynde Hi Cynde I hope it is ok if I give you some of my thoughts. The first thing that stood out in your post were your comments about Ascites and PH. The gurgling and movement of food in your gut does NOT necessarily mean anything more than that you are digesting your food. My stomach makes weird sounds and movements too. Please dont talk yourself into an illness that you may not have. You will just make yourself miserable. - I have NOT heard of people switching genotypes, for any reason. Each is genetically different - like cows and horses, but both are mammals. - I HAVE heard of people having more than one genotype, due to exposure from two different sources. A thought comes to mind - maybe one of your treatments was successful eliminating one genotype, but not the other? I dont know if this is possible, but some genotypes are easier to cure than others. This may be the answer to two different genotype DX's. Apathy and brain fog [slow thinking] are two different things. - Apathy is a state of indifference, or the suppression of emotions such as concern, excitement, motivation and passion. [in my opinion - apathy is self-imposed....a concious choice.] - brain fog is defined as unusually poor mental function, associated with confusion, forgetfulness and difficulty concentrating. [in my opinion - brain fog is NOT self-imposed.....unless your drunk.] LOL :-) Each one of us must sometimes be aggressive when talking with our doctors. Take a list of your concerns and questions to your doc visits. It has been my experiance - if you dont ask questions, you dont get answers.
