It was all too bleak to me a long time ago. However, I can promise you that when there is big news, we all will hear about it before the day is over. For instance, when the towers came down. I was in the bedroom with A & E on the TV getting ready for the day. Remember how much later we get the news out here. Anyway, my mechanic was knocking on the door as he was going to take my car and fix it. At the front door, he's telling me about the towers. Three times I honestly didn't believe it and thought he was trying to get a rise out of me. Well, finally I went and turned on CNN and both my assistant and I, watched for the rest of the day. So horrified that we didn't even realize that we were actually watching the same clips over and over. Now this horror in Japan is almost too much for any mind to take in!! At least mine is having a hard time. However, I do switch news stations between the American and the Canadian. Then if I waited, I could tune in to the British News. But, let's face it, doesn't matter what news station - the whole thing horrific. Here is my apology in advance for this post. Today is the first time that I have actually sat & watched the " long " version of the news in over a week. I've seen ( more like " heard " ) about the disaster in Japan all week. Today I saw Japan, devestation in Libya, riots against US in Pakistan, Afganistan, where 4 journalist are missing, Mexico where US is flying Drones to attack Drug Cartels, mass murderer in jail... Reminder to me not to watch the " long " morning news shows. It's too much, too troubling. Are there especcialy gruesome items in news now ? I haven't been so depressed/upset since Katrina. I've always tried to stay on top of all the news stories. Not now. Oh my, where is Charlie Sheen today?? I need some comic relief. Just sayin'. Save the earth...
