Keep posting here, we're here for you and we understand! Guest guest
Hi - it has been a long time! Glad to hear the arthritis is doing well overall. Just to sort of relieve your mind, my daughter was treated for MRSA in the spring and she did ok with it. The antibiotics did the trick quite well. She did have a lot of pain from it, and did feel somewhat sick as well. But she did recover and no one else in the house came down with it. would probably love to wash and polish the truck! He still loves doing detail work on cars and often does the big rigs of his dad's and the guys my dh works with. He can really make them shine! He does it as a side job to his regular one, so you know he enjoys it. He probably wouldn't mind a trip to Montana either! LOL. Please let us know the results and keep in touch more often. Michele ( 21, spondy) ________________________________ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Sent: Monday, October 20, 2008 3:34 PM Subject: Hello Hello everyone, I know it's been a very long time since I have posted, and I bet many of you thought I dropped off the face of the earth. lol. I didn't I am still here somewhere. My arthritis is doing really great. Not a whole lot of problems with it for well over a year now. I little bit of stiffness with the changing weather here in Montana. I hadn't even been sick in well over a year, until aug when I got some stomach bug and by the 5th day I was going through morphine withdrawls so I had to be hospitalized for that. But that is really the only problem in a very long time. I have needed a big long vaction from arthur. For the last week or so I had a pretty rash in my left armpit. Bet you wanted to know that lol. But it started not looking right to me so I decided to go to my doctors today without an appt. they love it when I do that. lol. It turns out it's not a rash, but an infection. I can deal with the infection or at least I thought I could. the say I have a yeast infection and possible a staph or bactiera infection and because of the love immune system they wanted to check and make sure I don't have MRSA. I was fine with it all until I Heard they were going to check for MRSA. I am suppose to have the results later today. Anxity has been high since I left the doctors office. And I have became a chain smoker all of a sudden. But enough of that for now. Been really busy the last month getting ready for hunting season here. I do a lot of scouting before the season starts here next sunday. Been looking forward to this since the end of last years season lol. My truck needs a serious washing (and if any of you want to come and wash it for me you can!!!!) . Been giving the truck a weekly mud bath lol. Makes it look really pretty lol. and kinda a blue brown color lol. Well I have taken up enough of all of your guys time. I will go for now. I will post results of test later today after I get them. Geez, you broke your neck when you were a kid and the hospital just sent you home?? Have you had pain since your neck injury or has it been come & go? I am also appaulded that with the level of pain you have they won't prescribe any pain meds! Are your Dr's supportive? Do they know how much pain you are in? Have you talked to them about the need of pain control? Wishing you the best! It is a Doctors Job to make you as comfortable as possible. Many of us here are on opiates such as Hydrocodone (Vicoden) Oxycodon, muscle relxers etc. I'm on 7 a day to keep the pain and depression from the long term pain in check. Have you asked your Doctor for more pain relief. Also for me one thing that REALLY HELPS are packs of iced blue GELL bought from the pharmacy first aid counter. I keep ten frozen all the time. I wrap them in a thin towel like a dishtowel to avoid frostbite and put them on the area that hurts, I would get NO REST if not for those gell packs. Another non medicinal help is a TENS stimulator. It sends a small electrical shock in the area of the pain. It confuses the nerves and helps block the pain. I've had one of those for 8 years also. Sometimes it helps much, sometime it doesn't., Sitting in a hot tub or pool. I have a massaging LA-Z-BOY chair. My Wife gives me massages with a handheld percussion massage unit by Homedics, about $25 in Walmart. Just some ideas. Dave

Guest guest
If your pain and paralysis are getting worse, then something must be done. Very few spine surgeons are reconstructive spine surgeons, who do complex surgeries on people with scoliosis or other large spine defects. Try to get an opinion from one of them.                                                                    Rochelle

Guest guest
Hi Melody..........i don't have RA, thank God,...but I too have had 2 neck surgeries and have just recently found out one of them didn't take. that particular surgery was done in oct of 01 and after 8 years of bitching about the pain they finally did another myleogram just to find out it didn't take. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. I was given something when all this started that temporarily helps with neck pain called an " Occipivot " cushion. Has anyone else in here heard of it? It does work especially good for the headaches associated with your neck. Is there a way to post a picture in here in case someone wants to see it? Guest guest
Hey Deb .........I've never been there but have always heard great things about Wisconson's health system. Living in the " armpit " of the country.........I would imagine that just about everyone in here has access to a better health care system.
