Help! I'm new to the group and I need some answers.

I got smooth shell saline implants in June of 2000. I went back in

March of 2001 to have implants changed for a slightly bigger size.

Stupid me! My problems started in December of 2001. I started with a

fever and aching all over. I went to the doctor and they thought it

was a slight urinary tract infection. Next, my left arm started

hurting and my fingers went numb. Shortly after that it went into my

right arm. My feet felt very cold and then they started tingling and

burning. My doctor did blood work and found that my liver functions

were slightly elevated. One week later they were back to normal.

She told me that she thought I had a virus that caused all of these

problems.

I still insisted to be tested for MS, so I was sent to a

neurologist and had muscle and nerve tests and an MRI on my brain and

upper spine. Everything came back as normal! This was a huge

relief, but shortly after this my skin started to burn. Everything

else went away except for the burning skin. I got pregnant and the

burning got worse. The doctors thougt that this would go away after

my pregnancy. About 1 month after I had my daughter, my doctor did

another MRI just to make sure this was not MS. Again, everything

came back as normal. I was put on neurontin and I am taking it 3

times a day. This was helping for a while, but the burning continued

to get worse. I have just recently researched, and inquired that it

might be my implants. I kept waiting for this to go away, but my

daughter is 5 months old, and it is not gone! This is now my only

symptom, but it is very bad. I am debating on removing my implants

but am worried that this won't go away! If anyone has any info. that

might help me please reply! I just want to get my life back!

I am so sorry to hear that you are now one of us. But I am glad that you found us.

I also got smooth shell saline implants and became very sick. I was explanted this last April an am feeling much better. Explanting is the only hope you have for recovery .

We all know what you are going through, and everyone here is very helpful.
